The Boo-Boost is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Boo-Boost's icon takes on the apperaance of a trio of Boo in front of two cyan circles.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Boo-Boost can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Mummy Knuckles .
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Boo-Boost by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Boo-Boost will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. The duration of the Boo-Boost is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Boo-Boost is in effect. Any rival character contact with the user is using Boo-Boost will take damage, causing them lose Rings and slow down momentarily, and their screen becoming temporarily obfuscated with several Boo.
The Boo-Boost can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. At level 2 and level 14, the Boo-Boost's speed will be increased while at level 8, its damage will increase.
