Bomb (Badnik)

Bomb (ボム) is a Badnik that resembles a walking, red-and-grey bomb. Created by Dr. Robotnik, Bombs are invincible to Sonic. These Bombs walk very slowly and stop in their tracks when Sonic is in their close proximity. When they stop, these Bombs automatically ignite their own fuse resulting in a kamikaze attack.

Bomb badniks can be found in Star Light Zone and Scrap Brain Zone of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Mega Drive, also Sky Base Zone for the Game Gear/Master System, as well as Gimmick Mt. Zone and Scrambled Egg Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Game Gear/Master System.

There are giant versions of these Bomb badniks, known as Bigboms, in Metallic Madness of Sonic the Hedgehog CD. A unnamed robot appear in Sonic Chaos at the Electric Egg Zone is similar to Bomb.

Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog

A Bomb appeared in the episode "Grounder the Genius" where it was used to destroy Hacker's computer room. The design of it was a cannon pointing down.

Sonic X (comic)

Bomb badniks appear in a virtual reality version of Star Light Zone in Archie Sonic X Issue 11. Sonic, Amy, Knuckles and Rouge walk by them, collecting rings, not even noticing their presence.

Trivia

• Bomb was the only Badnik left out of the American Sonic 1 instruction manual.
• Bomb was also left out of the the early Archie Comics, which featured most of the other Sonic 1 badniks (including Splats who was not actually in the game). The only other badnik to not appear was Spikes.
• In Knuckles' Chaotix, a character by the same name bears a slight resemblance to a Bomb.
