A common problem I have been hearing lately is spoilers: whether it be from a recently-released film and/or video game to a product that was released a couple of years ago, you can't deny that you have been spoiled by someone about your favorite television series or video game series, or have been the spoiler to others. Now, this seems silly of me to make a forum dedicated to spoilers, but it's quite the problem here. I suggest that we make some guidelines on spoilers, and limit down what we can and cannot spoil.
First off, the chat room. More than likely you're going to hear at least one spoiler in the chat room when it comes to a recently released comic, video game, film, etc. While it's an unwritten rule to not spoil something for others, I believe we should officially initiate a rule concerning this issue: you cannot spoil any recently released media product on the main chat room. Just when are you safe to officially spoil? That's the problem. I was thinking of a month for issues, a week for episodes, and for films, until the film distribution has stopped and the DVD release is nigh (I honestly don't have another idea for films, if you have another idea, feel free to say it now).
Then there's the main wiki. Now, it's going to be hard attempting not to spoil recently released products like the latest Sonic game or issue, so I honestly have nothing other than stay off the main wiki (as harsh as that sounds). For forums, we need to clarify that the forum has spoilers (and as most of us have done now, this isn't a huge problem as on chat). Maybe we can make some kind of open/close box template to hide spoilers and our thoughts concerning it, similar to how Bumbleking treats their spoilers (see here, don't look if you want to be Sonic Free Comic Book Day 2015 spoiled lol).
Now, I would like to see your stance on this topic. Put your thoughts and opinions here, too if you want. Let the arguing commence! - BlueSpeeder - Message Wall 19:50, May 2, 2015 (UTC)
