The Blue Material is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a type of Material that is used for construction.

Description

Blue Material (Sonic Rush Adventure sprite)

In Sonic Rush Adventure, Blue Materials appear as shards of blue crystals. In Sonic Lost World they appear in the shape of a tear drop. Despite the substance's apparent consistency, it is very versatile in building a number of devices.

In gameplay, the Blue Materials are used in conjunction with other Materials to build and/or upgrade various machines, such as vessels or RC Vehicles.

Unlike most of the other Materials, the player only earns one Blue Material per level, regardless of Rank.

Sonic Lost World

In the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Lost World, the player can earn Blue Materials by clearing Tropical Coast's Zones. The Rank the player gets from clearing the Zones determines the amount of Blue Material earned:

As an alternative to collecting Blue Materials, the player can combine other Materials in Tails' Lab to create Blue Materials. To create one Blue Material, the player needs at least three Yellow Materials.
