Sonic propels Shade into her target to deliver a leech blade attack that ignores armor.

— Description, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood[1]

Blade Drop (ブレードドロップ Burēdodoroppu?) is a POW move used by Shade the Echidna, with the aid of Sonic the Hedgehog, in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. When performing this move, Sonic Spin Dashes into a target and then propels Shade into the target as well, where she attacks with her leech blades. This attack pierces armor and inflicts Leech.

Description[]

When performing Blade Drop, Shade moves behind Sonic, while Sonic moves up in front of the opponent. Sonic then enters a Spin Dash and shoots himself into the targeted opponent at high speed, while Shade engages her leech blade on her right wrist, creating a purple energy blade, and jumps into mid-air. When Sonic then rebounds from hitting the target and retreats, Shade steps on Sonic while he is still in Spin Attack mode in mid-air, and uses his momentum to propel herself into the target where she does a downward slash with her leech blades, before retreating herself.

In gameplay, Blade Drop deals attack damage to a single target with two strikes. When it deals damage, Blade Drop pierces armor and inflicts Leech for Shade. The higher the level of Blade Drop is, the more attack damage it will deal.

Real-Time Interaction[]

When performing Blade Drop in gameplay, the player has to complete a series of real-time events by performing certain actions on the Touch Screen, in order to execute Blade Drop optimally:

  1. The player has to touch the inside of five circles in succession when the outer circles overlap the inner circles.
  2. The player has to touch and stay inside the outer circle that appears when it overlaps the inner circle and follow it vertically across the middle of the screen, from the top of the screen and down.

Missing or not touching these circles correctly will either result in Sonic and/or Shade missing a strike or the damage from the attack being reduced.

Statistics[]

Level PP Cost Damage Effect
I 5 2 x 200% of Attack damage Armor Piercing, Leech
II 5 2 x 225% of Attack damage Armor Piercing, Leech
III 5 2 x 250% of Attack damage Armor Piercing, Leech
