The black bass^[2] (ブラックバス^[3]^[4], burakku basu^?), also known as the Bura Basu (ブラバス^[3], Bura Basu^?), is an animal that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a large fish that can be caught during fishing.

Description[]

Based on the real-life fish species of same name, the black bass is a large fish with light yellow skin, small dorsal and pectoral fins, and wide caudal fin. In Sonic Adventure, their skin color is shown to be green and white.

Sonic Adventure[]

In Sonic Adventure and its enhanced port Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut, the fish species is known as black bass (ブラックバス^[3], burakku basu^?) with the additional nickname Bura Basu (ブラバス^[3], Bura Basu^?), as listed in Sonic Adventure: Navigation Guide. In gameplay, the black bass is one of more common fish species found in Twinkle Park and Icecap. In both Action Stages, catching one black bass will grant about 600 to 1,600 points to the player's score.

Sonic Frontiers[]

In Sonic Frontiers, the black bass is one of collectable fishes to be earned in Fishing Spot minigame hosted by Big the Cat. When catching one, a black bass is worth six Treasure Tokens.^[2]
