The Black Oak[1] (ブラックオーク Burakkuōku?) is an enemy that appear in Shadow the Hedgehog. It is a breed of giant Black Arms soldiers with enormous strength.
Appearance
Black Oaks are muscular versions of the Black Warriors. They have nasty dark green skin, with red color starts from the humerus to the end of their hands, and from their ankles to their feet. They also have sharp claws on both their hands and feet.
Overview
The Black Oaks appear in a majority of the later levels, the first being Central City. However, statues of them appear in Glyphic Canyon and Sky Troops and hides Black Swords.
Black Oaks are incredibly tough opponents, taking about twelve Homing Attacks to destroy just one of them. In gameplay, they will occasionally drop into the player's path through Warp Hole-like points or Black Arms Gunships.
The Black Oaks are usually equipped with one of several types of weapons to use against the player, such as long-ranged firearms to attack the player from far away, or short-ranged swords which they use swiftly but also leave them open to attacks.
