The Bio Pod[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics.

Description[]

Appearance[]

The Bio Pod is a large one-person space pod. It is metallic and silver in color, with a window to look outside. The inside consists of various screens and keyboards, lit up by green light.

Features and traits[]

The Bio Pod is an emergency vehicle designed to automatically seek out planets with breathable air. It also comes with a warning system to let the passenger know if the planet they are on has toxic air. It also has some rations that can last a few weeks.

History[]

During his venture across the universe, Sonic hitched a ride on the spaceship of a group of aliens known as the D'novuland. However, their spaceship soon got caught in the debris of an exploding planet known as Cemerant-16. The debris from the planet badly damaged the spaceship, forcing everyone on board to escape via the numerous Bio Pods available. However, because Sonic was an unexpected guest, they were one Bio Pod short. As such, Captain Oe sacrificed himself and offered Sonic his Bio Pod. Sonic’s Bio Pod then left, safely delivering him to the surface of Azuria. Sonic left his Bio Pod to search the area, only to discover that evolution/time on Azuria was extremely fast. Sonic then decided that the safest course of action would be to stay in his Bio Pod. From inside his Bio Pod, Sonic witnessed the rapid evolution and advancement of the Azurites from primitive to advanced beings. Eventually, the Azurites created the Temporal Decelerator, allowing their time speed to be in synch with Sonic. It was then that Sonic finally left his Bio Pod. When Sonic left Azurite on the ship built by the Azurites, the Bio Pod was left behind.[2]
