Big the Cat is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He is the alternate version of Big the Cat from the In Another Time, In Another Place Zone.

Appearance[]

Big is identical in appearance and wardrobe to his Prime Zone counterpart. As such, he is a very large and burly cat with the majority of his body covered in purple fur with dark violet stripes running up his arms and long tail with the end frayed. His feet are covered in dark violet fur up to his ankles as well as the outer tips of his large triangular ears, on his head and around his eyes. He possesses white fur that covers his torso, upper chest and muzzle protruding outwards, and inner ears. He also has black eyes with pale yellow sclera, and a small black nose.

His preferred attire consists of tan gloves, brown sandals with silver buckles, and a brown belt with a gold buckle. He usually keeps his fishing rod with him.

History[]

Along with the rest of Sonic's friends, Big decided to participate in the Olympic Games. He joined the hammer throw event alongside Knuckles and Silver, but the three then fell victim to a trap set by Dr. Eggman. Knocked out by a gas trap built into his hammer, Big was thrown with many of Sonic's friends into a large Prison Egg, forcing Sonic to compete against Metal Sonic to save them. Fortunately, Sonic was victorious, and Big and the others were freed.[1]
