The Big Worm Shooter[1][2] (ビッグワームシューター[3],Biggu Wāmu Shūtā?) is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a lock-on-type weapon usable by both enemies and the player, and a firearm used by the Black Arms.
The Big Worm Shooter is very similar to the Worm Shooter, resembling a handgun-like weapon about Shadow the Hedgehog's size. An alien weapon with an organic-looking texture, the Big Worm Shooter is pale gold with a wide, water drop-shaped frame and flame-like points on the back. It also has an orange recess on both sides.
Overview[]
In gameplay, the Big Worm Shooter can only be found in certain stages. They can be wielded by Black Arms enemies (such as Kill Worms) who will use them against the player. When fired, the Big Worm Shooter's shots can home in on the player over a certain range.
Big Worm Shooters can be dropped by defeated Black Arms enemies that wield them or released from breakable Containers. Touching one will make the playable character pick it up automatically. As a lock-on type of weapon, the Big Worm Shooter can unleash a homing attack on enemies. The player must hold // (whether on the ground or in mid-air) and use the control stick to target and lock onto enemies, then release to fire. By comparison, this weapon's shot have a long range and high damage output. A Big Worm Shooter has a total of six shots, and once those run out, it becomes useless. However, it can be reloaded with another six shots by picking up another Big Worm Shooter.
Trivia[]
The Big Worm Shooter's beeping sound effect is different from GUN-exclusive RPG weapons.
