Increases jump height when performing tricks.

— Description, Sonic Free Riders

Big Air is a Gear Part that appears in Sonic Free Riders. It is an Extreme Gear component that increases the height the rider can reach whenever he/she performs an Air Trick.

Description

Big Air is an installable performance-enhancing component for Extreme Gears. Its actual appearance is unknown, though it is presented as an icon on the head-up display in the top-left corner of the game screen. Its icon is a purple-colored circle with the image of an end of a lavender ramp with a lavender arrow pointing upwards inscribed in it.

Overview

In gameplay, Big Air is a customizable Gear Part that can only be attached to different Extreme Gears. It can be bought from the shop for 600 Rings.

When in use, Big Air will always enable the player to reach high areas to access shortcuts after performing Air Tricks from a Kicker, even if the player did not down to charge or had any Air in his/her Air Tank to charge. In addition to reaching high areas, the player's Rank will always be at least an "S" as a result for that trick.

If Big Air is installed into the front slot, it becomes active in gameplay once the race begins. If installed into the rear slot, however, the player can activate, and as well deactivate, Big Air by switching stance by turning his/her body around due to the Kinect controls of the game.
