Beat is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He was one of the many racers who took part in an interdimensional racing competition.

History

Racing for the Stars

Beat was invited to take part in a racing Grand Prix. There, he encountered AiAi, who he had met the previous year. AiAi questioned why he had not brought back the De La Custom GGs, and Beat explained it was a freedom of expression. Soon after, he met Danica Patrick and asked how she would keep up, but she revealed that she had been racing since she was ten years old.[1]

Before the race, Dr. Eggman showed up in an impolite manner, and Vyse had asked who it was. Beat sarcastically told Vyse who he was, saying he had in the last racing competition the year before.[1]

In the middle of the race, Tails shifted to his convertible's flight mode and caught up to Eggman, taunting him and then landing on the track, giving Beat enough time to taint Eggman's paint job by tagging it with his spray. This distracted Eggman long enough for Sonic and the others to speed ahead; though indifferent to this at first, Eggman quickly grew enraged.[1]
