A banana
Bananas (バナナ Banana?) are items that only appear in Competition mode of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Bananas begin inside of a bubble, that appears floating and rotating around at one point of competition stages, along with Self-Propelled Bomb. When the player picks up a banana in the air, it falls down to the ground until a player runs over it, which causes the character to slip and thereby slow down for few seconds.
The player has memorize the location of banana, where it fell after picking it up in the air. However it might become challenging during the fast moving race and sometimes the banana would be hard to recognize on the ground on certain courses.
Trivia
- The fruit itself was also available in Sonic Unleashed, it can be purchased for forty rings at Flying Fish Beach Shop in Adabat.
