Balkiry is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog story books published by Ladybird. It is a mass-produced, bird/plane-based Badnik model created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik.

Appearance

The Balkiries' design is a hybrid of a bird and plane. Their red, white and gray metallic bodies have wings on each side, a vertical stabilizer and a jet engine below each of their wings. Their heads also have small eyes facing the front and an orange bird beak each. They also have an oblong white and gray flap on the bottom of the exhaust for each of their jet engines, which resemble feet.
