Balance Master[1] (メカアシカ[2] Meka Ashika?, lit. "Mecha Sea Lion") is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Master Robot created by Dr. Robotnik, who used it during the Master Robot incident.
Appearance[]
Balance Master is a seal-based Master Robot; therefore it is painted mainly gray metal. It has three fins in total: two at the front and one at the rear. The front ones can be seen to be connected by bolts. It has six black/white hairs on his face as whiskers, and a pair of black sunglasses covering its eyes. In addition, it has a red inflatable nose.
History[]
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-bit)[]
In Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-bit), Dr. Robotnik created Balance Master in an attempt to destroy Sonic the Hedgehog in the Aqua Lake Zone. Unfortunately for him. Sonic managed to destroy the robot.
Powers and abilities[]
Balance Master is capable of blowing up its nose like gum and spewing it out as an explosive. In addition, it can replace that nose with others that it has stored in its body. It is seen that it is also very fast, since it can carry Sonic preventing him from being released.
Weaknesses[]
Balance Master cannot withstand its own blasts, and being exposed to them too many times will completely destroy it.
Battle[]
Balance Master is the Master Robot of Aqua Lake Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-bit) and the game's third overall boss. The player faces it as Sonic the Hedgehog.
Boss guide[]
The player will encounter Balance Master at the end of Aqua Lake Zone Act 3. To hit the boss, the player must jump on the red ball while the robot inflates it. After being hit, Balance Master will try to get closer to the player. It can then jump on Sonic and damage him. To avoid this, the player has to jump on the boss's nose. Balance Master will start to bounce Sonic off a ball and launch him to the opposite end of the arena. Then it will start to inflate the ball again. If the player does not stop the robot, it will throw another explosive ball at them. The player still has a chance to destroy the ball with a Spin Jump.
After six hits, Balance Master will be destroyed. The player can then destroy the Prison Egg and proceed to the next Zone.
