Badnik Tanks from Sonic the Comic #9. Art by Richard Elson.
The "Badnik Tanks" are characters that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. They were an unnamed type of Badnik that appeared only once, in Sonic the Comic #9.
Description[]
Two of these large robots were patrolling the outskirts of the Emerald Hill Zone when the Omni-Viewer dropped Sonic, Tails, Porker Lewis and Johnny Lightfoot six months into the future.
These Badnik tanks had humanoid upper bodies fitted to tank-like bases. They were very durable and could withstand Sonic's Super Spin Attack easily. Their arms and chest plates were fitted with laser cannons. They weren't very smart, however, and they ended up shooting each other whilst trying to shoot Sonic.[1]
Trivia[]
- Two other tank robots appeared in Sonic the Comic #67, "The Return of Chaotix, Part 1". These robots were modelled more closely on Robotnik's Troopers, and were mentioned as being prototype units for the Special Badnik Service.
