Badniks[1] are a group that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog story books published by Ladybird. It is Dr. Ivo Robotnik's personal robot army, consisting of robots of various designs that Robotnik uses as his foot soldiers and work force in his efforts to plunder and conquer Mobius. Most of them use organic batteries in the form of small animals.[2]
While guarding the Aquatic Ruins Zone, a number of Grounders, Chop Chops and Whisps would be blown away by Sonic the Hedgehog while the hedgehog traveled through the Zone. Meanwhile, Grounders and Chop Chops would guard Dr. Robotnik's local oil platform. When Sonic began battling Robotnik, the doctor had his Grounders, Chop Chops and Whisps attack him. However, Sonic easily defeated them. The other Grounders at Robotnik's oil rig were soon after destroyed by Sonic too while the Chop Chops could do nothing but watch Sonic modify the oil rig into something that would foil Robotnik's operation. After Sonic had defeated Robotnik, a local Chop Chop tried to stop Sonic, but failed.[1]
