In Nintendo 3DS version, BFS appears to be smaller and is only encountered in Sky Road Zone 2 and 3. This time however, the Badnik is armed with homing missiles towards the player and as it now hovers close to the ground, BFB can also do short length shock waves. Defeating these Badniks can be mandatory for opening Cases, that contain items or objects to proceed in the Zone. The player has to perform fully Focused Homing Attack two times to defeat it or using the Rocket towards to defeat it at once in Sky Road Zone 3.

BFB[1] is an enemy that appears in Sonic Lost World. It is a mass-produced, pufferfish-based Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman and a variant of the Blowfish Transporter.

Appearance

Based on pufferfishes, the BFBs are larger Blowfish Transporters and is one of the largest Badnik models that Dr. Eggman has built to date. Both Badniks look similar except for slight differences. BFBs are mostly colored cyan with a white underbelly, a flat yellow beak, red engine turbines and a pair of wing-like fins. BFBs have four missile launcher holes up front on each side and on their rear they have cyan spikes.

Overview

In the Wii U version of the game, a single BFB appears in Tropical Coast Zone ? and Sky Road Zone 3. In Tropical Coast Zone ?, a single BFB acts as the final obstacle that appears on the path. The player's only option is to avoid colliding with it by moving below it at the right time.

In Sky Road Zone 3, the player encounters another BFB which must be defeated for the player to proceed with the Zone. In battle, the BFB will fire red missiles while moving up and down in linear patterns. After firing at Sonic, the BFB will charge towards him from the right side and then retreat to repeat the attack pattern. The player can avoid this attack by moving down at the bottom of the screen, although going completely off-screen will cost a life. To defeat the BFB, the player must knock the BFB's missiles back at it by curling into ball. After getting hit three times, the BFB will come crashing down.

In this version, they are fought in small areas where they can fire homing missiles at the player and create short-ranged shockwaves by slamming into the ground. Once again, defeating these Badniks is mandatory for opening Cases, which are needed to proceed with the Zones. When fighting a BFB, it takes two fully charged Focused Homing Attacks to defeat it.
