The Awardy Award is an object that appears in the Sonic Boom series. It is an award handed out once a year to a resident on Bygone Island and in the surrounding areas.
Description
The actual Awardy Award is a golden bust of Mayor Fink with a rectangular footing. It is handed out once a year to an individual on Bygone Island and the surrounding areas, like Dr. Eggman's lair, during an event known as the "Awardy Awards" or the "Awardies" to award those who have given exceptional services to the community. According to Amy, winning an Awardy Award is the honor of a lifetime.[1] It is said that nothing else, except maybe the Prizey Prize, say that the winner has made more than this.[2]
Nominees for the Awardy Award are determined by ballot votes. To receive the Awardy Award, the nominees must meet up at the Awardy Awards, where the winner will be determined. If the nominees do not show up, they will forfeit their chances.[1]
History
The most recent Award Award was given out at the Awardy Awards at Mayor Fink's mansion. Nominees for this Awardy Award included Sticks the Badger (who had saved the village earlier), Dr. Eggman (who had cheated by giving himself enough votes to be a nominee) and Leroy the Turtle. In the end, Leroy was named the winner, but Eggman retaliated with his robots attack everyone and make them give him the award. After Team Sonic got rid of Eggman, Leroy still held the Awardy Award, but Sticks took it on the grounds that she was the hero of the evening.[1]
