Description

In gameplay, when the player obtains Attack, the playable character will jump off his/her Extreme Gear (or uncurl in the case of SCR-GP and SCR-HD) and start running down the racing course at full speed on foot for about ten seconds. While in this state, the player can strike enemies with character-exclusive attacks, activate Springs which are otherwise inoperable, access special shortcuts, and smash through barricades (though the player cannot earn Gravity Points by doing this).

Once Attack wears off, the playable character gets back on their Extreme Gear and regular gameplay resumes. The Gear Part, Attack Time UP, can increase the duration of Attack by two seconds.

The player can obtain Attack at random by touching one of the Item Boxes that lie scattered across the racing course. When obtaining it, Attack's icon briefly appears on the screen.
