Synopsis[]

Part I[]

Sonic plays ping-pong by himself and the other Freedom Fighters wait for their turn to play. Sonic says he would be having more fun battling Robotnik, who hasn't been active lately. Meanwhile, Robotnik arrives on a tropical island with a hunting party composed of Snively and several robots. After discovering a massive footprint, Robotnik explains the goal of their quest: to find his first robotic creation. He made a massive robot for his thesis, but when lightning brought his creation to life, the robot ran away, leaving Robotnik and eventually disappearing.

Sinvely asks how he knows his robot his here. Robotnik explains he saw signs it was here via satellite photos, among other signs. The robot, revealed as King Gong, then makes its appearance to the hunting party. After appeasing the hungry machine with bananas, Robotnik reveals his intentions to use King Gong to destroy Sonic and the Freedom Fighters.

Part II[]
Sallygong

King Gong falls for Sally.

Back in Knothole, the Freedom Fighters set out for a picnic, unaware that Robotnik has shipped his "son" to Robotropolis. Crabmeat wonders if they will be eaten when they run out of bananas. Robotnik dismisses this, saying with proper care and feeding, the bot will do anything they ask him to. The doctor dispatches King Gong to attack Sonic, breaking a wall on his way out. King Gong attacks the picnic, sending Sonic, Tails, and Antonie into a panic. Sally, irritated, complains to the robot about his antics. Instead of driving the beast off, Sally inadvertently attracts its romantic interest. King Gong flicks Sonic away, grabs Sally, and heads for Robotropolis. Sonic finds Tails and Antoine, hiding from the big metal ape. They then proceed to board the Tornado to save Sally.

Snively sees King Gong climb to the top of the Tras-Mobian Trade Center and tells his uncle. Robotnik grabs his goggles and sees his robot up there with Sally. Sally is impressed by the sunset and King Gong's gesture, but insists she already has a boyfriend. Sonic arrives with Antonie piloting the Tornado and Tails on a wing. Sonic tries to Sonic Spin through the robot, but bounces off. Antonie catches Sonic with the Biplane before he falls to the earth. Sonic comes up with a new strategy and sends Tails to rescue Sally. With Sally safe, Sonic sprays banana oil on the tower, sending King Gong plummeting to the streets below, resulting in his destruction. As Robotnik mourns his fallen "son", Sonic admits he understands why King Gong went after Sally, given his own interest in her.

Synopsis[]

Alone at night, Sally picks petals off a flower in "he loves me, he loves me not" fashion. Discouraged, she thinks back on her happy childhood with Sonic and her father, King Maximillian Acorn. The happy memories don't last, as thoughts of Robotnik's take over and her father's disappearance come to mind. Sally starts crying, wishing she could have a magic wand to wipe her problems away and how much she misses her father.

Suddenly, an object falls out of the sky and crashing to the earth in the distance, prompting Sally and the other Freedom Fighters to investigate. Upon reaching the crash site, they discover a mysteriously glowing orb that is cold to the touch. Rotor and Sally are puzzled at what it could be, but the princess thinks it may be the answer to her dilemma.
