Antoine is one of the main characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog Troll Associates novels. He is a Mobian and a member of the Knothole Freedom Fighters.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Robotnik's Revenge[]
Antoine got the rest of the Freedom Fighters to focus on planning their next scouting mission. However, before he could finish speaking, Sonic interrupted him, restating what Antoine had just said, making Antoine furious.
The next day, he, along with Bunnie, Sally, and Rotor, left on the scouting mission while Sonic stayed behind in Knothole. Antoine assured Sally he would protect her as they made their way to the edge of the Great Forest. Once there, he and Sally lead the others across the plains on the Great Forest's border. While they walked, Antoine noted how depressing Robotnik had made the Great Forest since he took over, while Sally told him that they would change that one day. Suddenly, Bunnie began crying to Sally and Antoine for help. When they ran back to help her, they were horrified to find an army of Buzz Bombers attacking Bunnie and Rotor. However, the Buzz Bombers, noticing Antoine and Sally, began attacking them instead. The two fled behind the boulder Bunnie and Rotor were hiding behind. When Sally ran out from behind the boulder to try and save Bunnie, who had gotten picked up by a Swatbot, Antoine protested. Sally then got flung by the Swatbot ten feet away, and Antoine rushed to her side. After checking on Sally, Antoine and Rotor noticed that Bunnie was gone, so they headed back to Knothole to alert Sonic.
While figuring out a way to rescue Bunnie, Antoine pointed out that Robotropolis was like a fortress and that Swatbots patrolled everywhere. After Sally proposed to build a giant Robotnik robot to hide inside so they could sneak in, Antoine opposed her plan, to which Sonic complained that Antoine sees problems in everything. Antoine snapped back that Sonic rushes into everything, putting Sally in danger. Sally stopped their arguing and prompted Antoine to express his thoughts on her plan. He then expressed his wondering on how they would find Bunnie in such a large place, stating that it could take days just to find her, meaning that the Swatbots had a greater chance of finding them. Antoine, Sonic, and Sally then questioned Uncle Chuck to see if he remembered where the jail cells were. As Sonic prepared for their rescue mission, Antoine told Sally that it wouldn't be easy.
A few days later, Rotor and Uncle Chuck finished the robot. Antoine praised them for making it accurately look like Robotnik. Then he, along with Sonic, Sally, Rotor, and Muttski, climbed inside. After successfully getting inside Robotropolis, Antoine questioned Sally on what the next part of the plan was. Using the map that Uncle Chuck made, Antoine found the route that lead to the jail cells. Then he made the Freedom Fighter handshake with the others.
Unfortunately, they ended up being captured, and Antoine despaired that they were finished. After trying to escape, the Freedom Fighters encountered another group of Swatbots, and in his distress, Antoine moaned too loudly, causing the Swatbots to find them. However, Sonic used his incredible speed and agility to outwit and destroy those and many other Swatbots as they made their way to Bunnie's cell. As they rounded the next corridor, Antoine urged the others to hurry, keeping his eye out for more Swatbots. However, when they found Bunnie's cell empty, Antoine panicked.
When Nicole couldn't find a map with a route leading to the Ro-Bo-Machine that Robotnik was taking Bunnie to, Antoine was at a loss on what to do. However, Muttski picked up her scent, so they followed him. As the gang made their way to the Ro-Bo-Machine, they fell into another trap, much to Antoine's dismay. After becoming captured, Antoine and the rest of the Freedom Fighters watched in horror as Bunnie was put inside the Ro-Bo Machine.
After Sonic rescued Bunnie, Antoine and the others dashed to Robotropolis' main gate. When the gate shut in front of them, Antoine again cried out in dismay. However, Bunnie kicked down the door with her new cyborg body and the Freedom Fighters escaped.
After returning to Knothole, Antoine later joined the others in celebrating Bunnie's return.

Personality[]
As a former royal guard, Antoine is a very loyal person. He is also a deep admirer and protector of Sally Acorn. He is also very serious, not liking any foolishness, especially Sonic's. Antoine however can easily lose hope and be in despair when in a tough spot, seen in the multiple times he thought he was done for when trapped or captured, even moaning in despair so strongly as to get himself and his teammates caught by Swatbots.
