*The ancient tapestry was based on the background of the [[Hidden Palace Zone]] in the game ''[[Sonic & Knuckles]]'', although in the video game it was not clear whether the image depicted was on a tapestry, mural or mosaic. The pattern on the comic version appeared identical to the game version, though with different colors. The tapestry actually depicts Super Sonic facing off against the final boss of ''Sonic & Knuckles'', though because that battle did not take place in the comics, its meaning there remains unknown. |

The Ancient Tapestry was a mysterious and ancient weaved piece of art residing within the Hidden Palace on Angel Island that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by Archie Comics. It was presumably thousands of years old, and thus was weaved before the Floating Island had lifted off from Mobius' surface.
History
The Dark Legion first discovered the tapestry when they located the Hidden Palace in 3237. Somehow, the tapestry depicted Super Sonic battling against Doctor Eggman. When it was shown to Sonic the Hedgehog and Knuckles the Echidna by Lien-Da, Knuckles wondered who could have weaved it. (StH: #139)
