Amy Palant (born 1979[1]) is an American voice actress and singer who is associated with her work with 4Kids Entertainment. Her most famous role is that of Miles "Tails" Prower in the English version of Sonic X and, from 2005, the video games of the franchise. She also provided the voice of Anna, a lady-in-waiting of Princess Elise, in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). In 2008, Palant left 4Kids to work for Pokémon USA for the Battle Dimension anime.
Palant studied voice acting at Edge Studio under founder David Goldberg. She continues to work with the studio as a performer and a voice coach. [2]
As a singer, Palant has performed with numerous bands, and was a founding member of the New York-based Alternate Folk band Bombshell, formed in 2005. She left the band in 2006.[1]
In addition to her voice work, Palant is a child psychotherapist, and operates a practice in New York.
In 2010, she was replaced by Kate Higgins as Tails' voice.

Reception
Palant had received mixed reviews for her performance as Tails. She had been criticized for making Tails sound girlish, but was highly praised for sounding more intelligent, cute and more like an 8-year-old. As the games progressed, many fans saw major improvement in Palant's voice acting, mostly in Sonic Unleashed, where many fans claimed that Palant finally perfected the role and was sounding more boyish. Though some fans praise her replacement, Kate Higgins, other fans still prefer Palant's role as Tails.
