Being red Badnik modeled after a disembodied head of a domestic cat, the Amidakuji Mech comes with a pair of blue ears and two large spikes on its cheeks resembling tufts of fur. The Badnik's face features wide, vacant eyes, a small black nose, and a wide mouth that constantly bites. Similar to the other Badniks that were deployed in Cyber Station Zone, the Amidakuji Mech is made up of glowing voxels which radiate from its body as it moves.

In Sonic Superstars, the Amidakuji Mechs appear as enemies exclusively in Cyber Station Zone. In gameplay, the Amidakuji Mechs move along a large web of connected Electric Wires, which the player has to dodge while in their Pixel Mouse form in order to avoid being knocked backed down to the beginning of the section. Contrary to their name, the Amidakuji Mechs do not strictly follow the rules of amidakuji, as they do not move across every horizontal wire they encounter and can sometimes move upwards as well. Due to these Badniks being only encountered while the player is transformed into their defenseless Pixel Mouse form, the Amidakuji Mechs are indestructible and must be avoided during gameplay.
Trivia[]
The Amidakuji Mech's name and behavior is a reference to the game with the same Japanese name, as these Badniks move along a path of Electric Wires that heavily resemble a typical game of amidakuji.
Additionally, the Amidakuji Mechs role in the Zone is also a reference to the popular cat and mouse trope, as the player during the Electric Wire section is transformed into a defenseless Pixel Mouse while the Amidakuji Mechs that the player needs to avoid in the section are modeled after cats.
Due to being the only Badnik that is exclusively featured in Cyber Station Zone and nowhere else in Sonic Superstars, it is unknown if the Amidakuji Mechs have a non-voxel form.
While indestructible during normal gameplay, Amidakuji Mechs can be destroyed using a glitch that can let the player use the SuperEmerald Power during the Pixel Mouse segment. This can be achieved by activating the power at the exact moment the player moves through the Pixel Gate.
