The Airbus[1] is a vehicle that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a hovering bus created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik for the purpose of transporting rare minerals.

Description[]

Appearance[]

The Airbus is a slim gray transport vehicle, with a flat hexagonal hull, two yellow jets on its underside, and a control section with yellow headlights and a windshield attached to its front. On its interior, the Airbus features a corridor, which connects several rooms in the it, one of which being the "nerve center", a room filled with electronic equipment and computers.[1][2]

History[]

Endgame[]

The Airbus was stationed at the Downunda Prison Camp, where it was loaded with rare minerals intended as power for the Ultimate Annihilator, guarded by Combots and sent off to Robotropolis by Crocbot, although not before Bunnie and Antoine managed to sneak aboard it. Arriving on the Airbus, Bunnie and Antoine hid in its nerve center to avoid the Combot guards, with Bunnie using her robotic arm to patch into the network and discover Robotnik's plan to activate the Ultimate Annihilator, and Crocbot's counter-plan to sabotage it, and rule the world himself. Formulating a scheme, Antoine lured the Combot commander of the Airbus within range of Bunnie's arm, allowing her to destroy it, and steal the Miniature Thermo-Nuclear Warhead it was carrying. As the Airbus arrived in Robotropolis, Bunnie and Antoine seized the chance to escape, while Robotnik unloaded all the ore it stored.[1][2]
