Agent Willoughby is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series produced by Paramount Pictures and its spin-offs. She is a human ex-G.U.N. agent and henchwoman of The Buyer.
Appearance[]
Willoughby was a peach-skinned human with brown hair and brown eyes.
History[]
Past[]
Before the events of the movies and the series, Agent Willoughby dedicated her entire life investigating and studying the existence of alien life in hopes of making a name for herself in the field. Shortly after the events in San Francisco, with Dr. Robotnik chasing Sonic throughout the city in the first movie, Willoughby decided to join G.U.N in hopes of being helpful towards stopping any threats that Team Sonic opposed to the earth. However, despite all her warnings about the danger that they could bring to the earth, G.U.N ignored Willoughby; relegating her to work on a desk job alongside Agent Mason and letting Team Sonic continue living under their secret surveillance.
Knuckles[]
Tired of being ignored by G.U.N, Willoughby decides to team up with Agent Mason to help The Buyer capture Knuckles and use him for his inventions. After they both get rid of their superior, Agent Fairley, the agents track down Knuckles and Wade to the Neon Nightz bowling alley, planning an ambush on both of them. Using the weapons given to them by The Buyer, the agents fight Knuckles at the aforementioned location and manage to capture him during the ensuing battle, taking him to IceCap Ski Resort that same night.
As the agents wait for The Buyer to arrive at the resort, Agent Willoughby talks to Knuckles about her past in G.U.N (as described earlier) and coldly taunts him by saying that he'll know everything about her after the deal with The Buyer goes through. Much to her and Mason's dismay, however, Knuckles is freed by Wade using one of Mason's gauntlets and they both quickly escape from the resort. This leads Willoughby to worry about their potential fate if they fail to recapture Knuckles again on time.
Despite multiple bounty hunters going after Knuckles and Wade, the duo remain fugitive from the agents. This leads them to getting captured by The Buyer who threatens to kill them due to their failure. Willoughby manages to convinces him to give them one last chance to get Knuckles that same day, to which he agrees to aggressively. Later on, Willrougby and Mason arrive in Reno's Tournament of Champions and, with the willing help of Pete Whipple, manage to hold Wendy and Wanda Whipple hostage and force Wade into luring Knuckles into Pete's Rooftop Penthouse so they can finally get a hold of the echidna. Knuckles and Wade, however, manage to foil their plan, leading to one last battle. In the end, Mason and Willoughby were sucked into a Ring portal during their fight with Knuckles, seemingly killing them both in the process.
Personality[]
Willoughby is a straight-laced, Type-A personality who values discipline and efficiency above all else, with a no-nonsense attitude that borders on ruthlessness. Her strict demeanor and business-like approach to operations are matched only by her deep-seated resentment towards GUN, whom she feels has betrayed her trust by prioritizing surveillance over annihilation when it comes to Team Sonic, and unfairly relegating her to a desk job after years of dedicated service on the front lines. She also shows to enjoy coldly taunting her enemies, as shown a few times in the series. It becomes evident in her dialogue episode 2, where she proclaims to Knuckles that she'll become known for her deal with The Buyer.
Powers and abilities[]
Agent Willoughby is characterized by her intelligence, which is showed with her ability to plan out most of her and Mason's moves throughout the series. She is also shown to be a decent marksman, primarily using the guns given to her by The Buyer throughout all the battles she's involved in. Her gun skills prove to be great at doing a number on Knuckles under the right circumstances, as shown with the final fight of episode 1.
