Aduro Cutlass (アドゥーロ・カットラス, Adūro Kattorasu^?) is an item that appears in Sonic and the Black Knight. It is an unlockable weapon that can be equipped to and wielded by Sir Lancelot.

Description

In terms of appearance, Aduro Cutlass resembles more a single-edged trench knife than a sword, and is entirely brown with glowing yellow veins running across it. The hilt of Aduro Cutlass is a part of the blade, with a straight enclosed grip and has no hand guard. Most of the blade is straight with a thin edge, though the top of it is shaped more like a hook, and has stripes of red markings running across the surface. Also, on the foot of the back edge of the blade, Aduro Cutlass has a recess.

Etymology

"Aduro", or "adustum" is a Latin phrase, meaning "to set fire to", which may relate to the fire-like, yellow glowing cracks present on the sword. A "cutlass" is a short sword which serves as common naval weaponry.
