The abandoned space station is a location that appears in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog televisions series. It is a stationary station located outside of Mobius in a region of space known as the Star Light Zone.[1]
Description
The space station is a complex roughly the size of Dr. Robotnik's space ship. It has several corridors and rooms where various science projects were conducted, such rooms with glass pipes full of unknown liquids or advanced machinery. Collections of alien lifeforms were also kept here, such as an octopus creature. Despite its abandoned state, it has breathable air as well as pipes and ventilation. The space station also had escape pods to take its inhabitants back to Mobius.[1]
History
The abandoned space station was closed by the old Mobius government after Dr. Robotnik stole all their money. When Sonic and Tails got stuck in the Star Light Zone onboard Scratch and Grounder's space rocket, the duo boarded the space station where there was plenty of oxygen. They were followed by Scratch and Grounder until a Space Monster began hunting them. They tried to escape in the last escape pod on the space station, but Dr. Robotnik destroyed it, along with Scratch and Grounder. However, Sonic and Tails repaired the pod with parts from Scratch and Grounder and had the Space Monster propel them back home.[1]
Trivia
- Behind the assortment of doors on the space station are various gags:
- A skeleton in the closet on a vintage callbox.
- A robot resembling Robot B-9 from the '60s Sci-fi series Lost in Space.
