Plot[]

Sonic and Dark Oak face each other, ready to fight. Dark Oak boasts of his inevitable victory and commands his Metarex Troopers to prepare for battle. He points out Sonic's numerical disadvantage, warning that for every Trooper defeated, many more will take its place. Cosmo pleads with Dark Oak to spare Sonic, offering the Chaos Emeralds and Planet Egg in exchange. Dark Oak ignores her plea and orders his Troopers to attack. The Troopers swarm Sonic, but he quickly throws them off, impressing Dark Oak. Sonic then launches himself at Dark Oak, who vanishes at the last moment, revealing himself to be a hologram. The remaining Troopers, however, are real and surround Sonic, Amy, and Cosmo. Dark Oak's laughter echoes as they find themselves completely encircled.

In the Metarex station's shaft, Knuckles balances precariously on top of the Eggmobile, threatening Eggman. Eggman tries to appease him, arguing against violence. Decoe and Bocoe warn that any sudden movements could send them plummeting.  As Bocoe looks down the shaft, he notes the potentially fatal consequences of a fall.  Suddenly, the station shakes, throwing Knuckles off balance. Tails contacts Knuckles, reporting that a large fleet of Metarex ships is approaching the Blue Typhoon, suggesting the Metarex are retaliating for the intrusion into their fortress.  Cream then adds that more ships are attacking from behind, completely surrounding them. She expresses her fear, doubting their ability to defeat such a large force without Sonic's help.

Chris, Rouge, and Shadow observe the approaching Metarex fleet from a viewport. They recognize the danger. Shadow uses his walkie-talkie to contact Eggman, who abruptly calls off the mission, prioritizing self-preservation over the Chaos Emeralds. He explains the Metarex are about to attack them. A booming voice echoes through space, introducing Red Pine, who identifies himself and his three commanders as servants of Dark Oak.

On the Blue Typhoon's bridge, Tails confirms the arrival of three more Metarex leaders. Red Pine's message is heard even within the depths of the Metarex station. He taunts the intruders, claiming their efforts have inadvertently aided Dark Oak's plans.

In the Crimson Egg's cockpit, Bokkun watches as Red Pine expresses gratitude for the Chaos Emeralds, claiming they no longer need to search the galaxy for them. Back at the Metarex station, Red Pine's tone shifts, threatening to destroy the intruders. Rouge retorts defiantly. Eggman, panicking, urges Shadow to retreat.

Eggman then contacts Bokkun, ordering him to prepare the Crimson Egg for immediate departure. Knuckles attempts to stop Eggman, but Eggman prioritizes his own safety and abandons them, ascending the shaft. Knuckles is left stranded in the X-Tornado, unsure how to fly it.

At the Metarex station's viewport, Shadow decides to return to Eggman. Rouge, however, refuses to leave without the Chaos Emeralds. Chris calls after Shadow, but is interrupted by a communication from Amy, who urgently requests help. Back with Sonic, he's panting, facing a large group of Metarex Troopers. Chris, while trying to explain the situation to Amy over the communicator, mentions the Metarex, a word that Shadow overhears, piquing his interest.

Sonic continues to battle the seemingly endless horde of Metarex Troopers, becoming increasingly exhausted. Amy, seeing her chance, returns to her ship and attacks the Troopers with lasers. However, several Troopers manage to jump onto her ship. Cosmo, witnessing the struggle and remembering the code she deciphered, decides to act. She manipulates some controls, opening the cases containing the two remaining Chaos Emeralds. As she reaches for the cyan Emerald, an alarm sounds, and a protective sphere encloses the crystallized Planet Egg, which is then ejected from the station. Despite the commotion, Cosmo successfully grabs both Chaos Emeralds.

In the Metarex station's shaft, Knuckles struggles to operate the X-Tornado, lamenting Tails's absence. He accidentally activates a button, unsure of its function. Suddenly, he notices something falling past him.

On Red Pine's Battleship, where a Metarex Trooper announces the Planet Egg's ejection. Red Pine declares the fortress useless without the Egg and orders its destruction along with everyone inside. The Metarex fleet then unleashes a devastating barrage of laser fire upon the station.

Back on the Blue Typhoon's bridge, Tails orders the laser shield to be activated, and Cream quickly complies.

In space, the Blue Typhoon's laser shield is deployed, deflecting numerous laser blasts from the Metarex fleet. Inside the Blue Typhoon's bridge, Cream expresses her concern about how long the shield can hold. Tails admits he doesn't know, acknowledging that even with the shield, the Typhoon can't endure such intense attacks indefinitely.

Inside the Metarex station, Shadow, Chris, and Rouge are on the run. Chris questions Shadow's loyalty to Eggman, arguing that Eggman only uses him. Rouge supports Chris's claim, suggesting Eggman is manipulating Shadow with the promise of restoring his memories. Shadow remains unconvinced. Chris then appeals to Shadow's past, reminding him of how he helped them before and pleading for his assistance again. Shadow eventually agrees, but only "this one time." He retrieves the red Chaos Emerald from Rouge, warning her he's watching her. Rouge scoffs. Shadow uses Chaos Control to teleport them away.

They reappear in the Crimson Egg's cockpit. Eggman greets them casually, but Chris glares at him. Eggman patronizes Chris, thanking Shadow for the "rescue" and belittling Chris's ability to handle the Metarex. Chris calls out Eggman's cowardice for abandoning them. Eggman dismisses him, again calling him "kid."

Chris, finally fed up with Eggman's condescending attitude, declares he's taking matters into his own hands. He pulls out a flash grenade, throws it, and uses the distraction to steal the two Chaos Emeralds from Eggman's command chair. He escapes to a nearby spaceship, starts the ignition, and flies off the Crimson Egg, heading towards the Metarex station where Sonic and the others are in danger. He navigates the same treacherous path through the station's structure that Sonic, Amy, and Eggman had taken earlier.

Inside the Metarex Station, Cosmo attempts to escape with the two stolen Chaos Emeralds, but Metarex Troopers block her path, causing her to trip and drop the Emeralds. Sonic cries out in alarm. A Trooper seizes the opportunity to restrain Sonic. Cosmo realizes they're overwhelmed. Just then, Amy arrives in her spaceship, crashing through several Troopers to reach them.

A massive explosion rocks the station, throwing everyone off balance. Amy wonders about the source of the explosion. Sonic realizes the Metarex are trying to destroy the station. Cosmo questions why they would destroy their own base, especially with so many of their own forces still inside. Amy agrees, noting the illogical nature of the attack.

The Metarex Trooper holding the Chaos Emeralds speaks cryptically about a "great and noble mission" and the need for sacrifice, its eyes glowing red ominously.

Inside the Metarex Station, Chris flies down a corridor and spots Shadow nearby. Shadow gathers energy in his hand, reminiscent of the energy he used to propel Chris across the room on Space Colony ARK. Chris also experiences a flashback of Maria and his own grief over Shadow's supposed death. Shadow then throws Chaos Spears, hitting Chris's ship and causing it to crash. Chris emerges, dazed, and Shadow approaches. As Chris walks away, Shadow follows. Suddenly, Rouge appears, scoops up Chris, and carries him down the shaft, away from Shadow.

Chris cries out that Shadow is trying to hurt him. Rouge offers to get him out of there in exchange for the Chaos Emeralds. Chris refuses. Rouge abandons him, and he plummets down the shaft. Luckily, Knuckles catches him, holding on by the seatbelt. Chris is relieved to see Knuckles.

Inside the Metarex Station, Knuckles carries Chris out of the shaft. As the X-Tornado lands, Chris throws the red and purple Chaos Emeralds to Sonic, who has just defeated a Metarex Trooper. Shadow also witnesses this. The red and purple Emeralds, along with the blue, green, and white ones already on the ground, and the cyan and yellow ones held by the Metarex Trooper, all begin to glow. The seven Chaos Emeralds are united.

An incredibly bright light erupts, visible even from outside the Metarex station. Tails, Eggman, and Red Pine all witness the phenomenon. On Red Pine's Battleship, he questions what is happening. As the light subsides, two glowing figures are revealed. Red Pine realizes they are harnessing the power of the Chaos Emeralds.

Inside the Metarex Station, Super Sonic and Super Shadow stand face to face. Sonic unleashes a wave of Chaos energy, destroying the remaining Metarex Troopers. They then fly outside into space.

In space, the two super hedgehogs confront each other. Super Shadow remarks on their shared traits and demands the Chaos Emeralds, threatening force if necessary. Super Sonic counters that Shadow has no use for the Emeralds and is being manipulated by Eggman. This enrages Super Shadow, who forcefully pushes Sonic through the Metarex station.

Back inside the station, Cosmo asks Amy about the glowing figures. Chris, observing from the stolen spaceship's cockpit, simply states, "It's happening. Chaos Control."

In space, the Metarex Fighters attack Super Sonic and Super Shadow as they battle. Shadow launches Chaos energy at Sonic, who dodges, causing the blast to strike the Metarex station. Sonic retaliates with his own blast.

Inside the station's shaft, massive cracks appear along the walls. In the Crimson Egg's cockpit, Eggman reacts with surprise and alarm. Back in space, Sonic and Shadow emerge from the station, just as it begins to warp and twist. A massive black hole forms, pulling in debris and even consuming some of the Metarex Fighters. Sonic and Shadow struggle to escape the black hole's gravitational pull.

On the Blue Typhoon's bridge, Tails expresses his astonishment at the immense gravity. Amy and Cosmo arrive, urging him to take action as they're being pulled towards the black hole.

In space, the black hole continues to consume everything in its path, including all the Metarex Fighters. Red Pine's battleship is also caught in the pull. Aboard Red Pine's Battleship, the Metarex Trooper orders full acceleration in a desperate attempt to escape, but it's too late. The massive ship is pulled into the gravitational field and explodes, destroying it and killing Red Pine and his crew.

In the Crimson Egg's cockpit, Eggman berates Decoe, Bocoe, and Bokkun, demanding they do something. Bokkun, in a panic, proclaims their impending doom.

In space, even Super Sonic and Super Shadow struggle against the black hole's pull. The Crimson Egg appears beside them, and Sonic recognizes it. As the Egg descends into the gravitational field, Shadow, his super form wearing off, dives after it. He uses all his remaining power for a Chaos Control, teleporting the Crimson Egg to safety just as the seven Chaos Emeralds fall into the black hole. Super Sonic, still clinging to a piece of debris, resigns himself to his fate.

Chris then calls out to Sonic, and Sonic sees the Blue Typhoon flying above him, dodging falling debris. He remarks that he thought they'd never arrive. In the Blue Typhoon's engine room, Knuckles pleads with the Master Emerald for its power. The Emerald glows intensely. On the bridge, Chris notices their power increasing and orders Tails to go to full speed. The Blue Typhoon uses all its power to escape the black hole's pull.

On Dark Oak's battleship, He observes the events, admitting he underestimated the "tiny warriors." He commends their resourcefulness, but dismisses the encounter as merely a test, hinting at greater challenges to come. He laughs, confident in his ultimate victory and the episode ends.
