Portal 4-G or just 4-G, is a Cyber Space stage in Sonic Frontiers. It is the seventh Cyber Space stage in Ouranos Island during The Final Horizon, and the thirty-seventh overall. It is a remix of 4-2.

Description[]

Main articles: 4-2 and Eternal Highway

4-G shares the basic Cyber Space theme along other stages, while presenting floating city locations strongly resembling Skyscraper Scamper from Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version of Sonic Unleashed and Speed Highway from console/PC version of Sonic Generations. As such, there are many streets and buildings present in the distance. The streets are layered with various signs as well as traffic signals, while the background consist of fast moving roads complementing the sky blue background with rapid, laser-like sparks also bypassing the screen to represent the digitized atmosphere of the stage.

Portal location[]

The entrance Portal to the Cyber Space stage is located on the west side of Ouranos Island, situated in the center of a round peninsula, directly below a Hermit Koco that Amy visits. It requires two Portal Gears for this Portal to connect to Cyber Space.

Gameplay[]

4-G is a large, open stage with several distinct paths that don't always connect back with each other. There is an abundance of cars in this level to serve as obstacles and trucks to jump off of. There are no Star Posts present in this stage.

Unique to this level is the Rev Gauge, which takes the place of the usual Boost Gauge. When using Boost, the gauge will fill as opposed to empty, and when the gauge hits full, Sonic's top speed will increase. This is represented by the large gauge on the screen (taking the place of the normal Speedometer), whereupon filling one gauge, Sonic will change gears like a car, going from Low, to 2nd, then 3rd, and finally Top. If Sonic stops Boosting for any reason (crashing into a car, getting hit by an enemy, jumping, etc.) it will shift back into low gear, losing all gained speed. Top speed can be achieved instantly by Spin Dashing, however Sonic will burn out and be damaged if it's used for too long.

Collectable locations[]

Number Rings[]

  • Following the alternate path of grind rails, floating trucks, and platforms on the right-hand side near the start of the stage, the Number Rings can be found on the twisting street in a linear fashion. During this section, Sonic is always being pushed forward, so decelerating is highly recommended.

Silver Moon Rings[]

  • The first Silver Moon Ring is right at the start of the stage, immediately after the large gap. The remaining rings can be found on the road ahead, with each at the end of a long line of rings, except for the last one, which is on a raised platform at the end of the path. It is recommended that the player keeps Sonic in top gear and take care not to hit any cars due to the time limit.

Animals[]

  • From the final Silver Moon Ring, the player should go to a path on the left-hand side, where a Cucky is. The drop-off zone is directly at the end of the street, before a large loop.
  • Following the loop, the second Animal, a Ricky can be found by two barriers on the right side about midway through the street. The drop-off zone is at the end of the path, taking care not to get damaged by the GUN Tanks and Helicopters.
  • Taking that path at the end of the second Animal leads Sonic to a springs that launches him to a lower path, where a Pecky can be found. The drop-off zone is at the end of the path, on a series of raised platforms to the left side. Like before, the player must take care that Sonic is just hit by the GUN Tanks and helicopters.

Hidden Goal[]

  • Following the alternate path of grind rails, floating trucks, and platforms on the right-hand side near the start of the stage, the hidden goal can be after the Number Rings and continuing on the path.
