Portal 4-8 or just 4-8, is a Cyber Space stage in Sonic Frontiers. It is the eighth Cyber Space stage in Ouranos Island, and the twenty-ninth one overall.

Description

4-8 shares the basic Cyber Space theme along with other stages, while presenting floating locations resembling the specific depiction of Chemical Plant from the console/PC version of Sonic Generations. As such, there are tons of mechanical buildings and tubes throughout the setting with rapid, blue digitized sparks bypassing the screen to represent the digitized atmosphere of the stage.

Portal location

In Ouranos Island, the entrance Portal to the Cyber Space stage is located just to the southeast of M-096 on a flat section of land south-west of the mainland. One Portal Gear is required to gain access to this Portal.

Gameplay

4-8 is a very short level which is mostly 3D, and has rings in very few areas of the layout. There are no Star Posts either. The player will need to observe shortcuts and good reaction timing to nail an S-rank here.

Overview

The first Pulley leads to some upwards Dash Rings, and a Rainbow Ring to the right, which will take Sonic past a shortcut. Once past the Rainbow Ring, Homing Attack the Spring on the right - which takes a split second to react. Otherwise break the container ahead which has a spring inside. The next pulley will take Sonic up in the air where there's a platform ahead and to the right with a Super Ring on it. From here, he can defeat the Buzzer up to the left and hit the Spring - if Sonic can't reach the platform defeat the Buzzers and take the Dash panel to the right, land carefully on the platform with the switch and grab the pulley. The player must react quickly to Homing Attack the diagonal spring on the right, otherwise they will be forced to start over again. Take one of the two Dash Rings either side of the Iron ball and land on the platform with the switch ahead. The Pulley will take Sonic up a slanted platform toward a spring which leads to the Portal Gate.

Red Star Ring locations

• The first Red Star Ring can be collected by taking the Dash Rings.
• The second Red Star Ring is along an upside-down quarter pipe.
• The third Red Star Ring is on a floating platform with the Pulley.
• The fourth Red Star Ring can be collected via the giant ring left of the Iron ball.
• The fifth Red Star Ring can be collected via a switch on the floating platform. A pulley will extend down to help the player reach it.
