Portal 1-6 or just 1-6, is a Cyber Space stage in Sonic Frontiers. It is the sixth Cyber Space stage in Kronos Island, and the sixth one overall.

Description[]

Main article: Green Hill

1-6 is a location in Cyber Space, being based on the specific depiction of the Green Hill Zone from the console/PC version of Sonic Generations. This stage also incorporates elements from the Green Hill Zone previously seen in 1-1 and 1-4.

Portal location[]

The entrance Portal to the Cyber Space stage is located in the middle of a small river, near a giant waterfall. Total of two Portal Gears are required for gaining access to the stage.

Gameplay[]

1-6, like 1-3, takes place entirely in the 2D perspective and as such, the stage consists of multiple different routes with moving/falling platforms, loops, disintegrating ledges, and tunnels. Some objects found in this stage, such as Springs and Dash Panels, use their classic designs. Alongside Badniks, spikes are present as the stageโ€™s obstacles. Roads are often slanted upwards to mark dangerous sections of the layout. The gray rocks that sometimes appear on the landscape can be broken by jumping onto them; some of them, along with wooden crates, will reveal gimmicks and items such as springs and dash panels.

Overview[]

At the start, Sonic will be on a straightforward road with rings followed by Badniks. By the time the player encounters and defeats the two Crabmeat and the Buzz Bomber, he can jump over the terrain blocks with a Aerial Boost, allowing him to take the top path of the first split road, which is the faster of the two. Up there, Sonic will soon be taking the spring which leads to the Star Post. Following the Star Post is another split road. A disintegrating ledge will appear just as the road bends downwards. Taking the ledge route, the player moves past the tunnel is a group of ledges leading to various routes. The top path can be taken by jumping from ledge to ledge. Otherwise Sonic will fall to the lower path, where he'll need to jump from platform to platform - including a swing - to avoid spikes and find the yellow Spring.

Along the higher route, after the road drops off, the player has to avoid mind the pit with full of spikes. Sonic will then approach an S-shaped tunnel with a Spring, leading to more falling ledges. After three ledges, the player can choose to take the vertical Spring on the terrain block or the swinging platform. The Spring leads to a road with a Dash Panel, ended by a Spring. The player can jump again to reach the ledge and continue Sonic's momentum.

If on the lower route, Sonic will soon bounce off a diagonal Spring towards the swing platform. Taking the moving platform will bring him towards the next path. Otherwise will need to find a Dash Panel, which will come out after Sonic breaks some Wooden Containers. There may also be occasions where they will miss the platform after aligning with the wall. They will pass the spikes and encounter a Moto Bug. Defeat that along with the Crabmeat and take the red Spring.

While moving right past the 3/4 loop and the next Star Post, Sonic will soon bounce off three diagonal Springs. To take the higher route, the player has to either land safely onto the wooden block - which will break, or use Homing Attack on Buzzers to reach the ledge above. Break open the rock and take the Spring inside. They will be running across some disintegrating ledges, so jump at the end of each one, where the second one ends with a ring trail towards a Rainbow Ring.

The lower route comes as follows: Sonic will come across a slant marking the next section: A swinging platform over a Crabmeat on a rugged U-slope, which will repeat again divided by a set of spikes. The player can choose to take the Springs or go through the S-tunnel. After taking off on the last slant, land onto the diagonal red Spring for a direct flight to the Portal Gate. Otherwise, the player has to proceed right and use Homing Attack on Buzzers to reach over spikes and take the Spring attached to the wall.
