Portal 1-5 or just 1-5, is a Cyber Space stage in Sonic Frontiers. It is the fifth Cyber Space stage in Kronos Island, and the fifth one overall.

Description[]

Main article: Chemical Plant

1-5 shares the basic Cyber Space theme along other stages, while presenting floating locations resembling the specific depiction of Chemical Plant from the console/PC version of Sonic Generations. As such, there are tons of mechanical buildings and tubes throughout the setting.

Much like other Cyber Space stages, many half-pipe lines and chunks of cubes are seen in far distance of the red skies with rapid, blue digitized sparks being spotted on the screen during the gameplay to represent the digitized atmosphere of the stage.

Portal location[]

The portal connecting to this stage is located in the northeastern region of Kronos Island, near a giant radio tower. In order to access the stage, the player requires 1 Portal Gear.

Gameplay[]

1-5 is a normal stage with primary gimmicks. There are plenty of hazards in this stage, such as Spiny Badniks, blue blobs and bottomless pits.

Overview[]

Right at the beginning of the stage, the player has to choose between three paths. If the player go in the middle one or right one, they will reach the lower path. However, the left one, if did correctly, can skip a significant amount of this stage, sending Sonic right to the next Star Post. If the player took the lower path, they have to use the Jump Panels in order to reach either the Grind Rails, either the Pulley. Regardless, they will reach the Star Post too.

Next, the player has to turn right and go into a Spring. Then, the player will be launched automatically into more springs, until they will reach a pulley. After collecting the Red Star Ring, there are two paths you can take, these being either using Homing Attack into another Pulley while in air, which will took Sonic to the upper path, or use the Grind Rails, which will take him into the lower path. In the lower path, if at the correct position, you can take 3 paths again. Like earlier, the left one will send the player into the upper path, the right one will took them into the lower path, however, the middle one will launch Sonic into the air, giving him a change to Boost into the upper path.

Finally, in the upper path, go straight forward in order to reach the Portal Gate. In the lower path, however, the player will have to dodge the Spiny Badniks before going forward. Here, there will be three paths, however, this time, they won't offer any advantages, as they end very quickly. After that, use the Jump Panels and reach the goal.

  • The second Red Star Ring is located at the end of a Grind Rail found at the end of the Spiny section (middle path) or right next to the player after completing the small platforming section at the end of the right path.
  • This Red Star Ring will be collected regardless if the player wants it or not, because it's located in the automated section after the checkpoint.
  • The fourth Red Star Ring is located above a container, in the lower path, at the second Spiny section.
  • Similarily to the third one, the last one will be collected automatically by using the Jump panels at the end of the stage. However, unlike the third one, there is a way to dodge it, but it's very hard and might result in falling in a bottomless pit.
