Much like other Cyber Space stages, many half-pipe lines and chunks of cubes are seen in far distance of the blue background with rapid, blue digitized sparks being spotted on the screen during the gameplay to represent the digitized atmosphere of the stage.
Portal location[]
The Portal connecting to the stage is found in southern cape of Kronos Island, near a hill with the blue Chaos Emerald Vault on the top. In order to make the Portal active again, the player is required to collect one Portal Gear.
Gameplay[]
1-3 takes place entirely in the 2D perspective, being the first Cyber Space stage to do so. The stage is filled with Grind Rails and Dash Rings, spikes to avoid, as well as Springs and Balloon's to perform a Homing Attack on. Getting the best possible time involves performing some quick Homing Attacks to stay along the top of the stage.
Overview[]
The stage starts with Sonic running out of a wormhole onto a path that ascends and descends. After jumping off of a Spring, he can go through a Dash Ring to reach a Grind Rail that will allow him to reach the top of a steep incline. Otherwise, he can approach it from below. After continuing along the path and avoiding some spikes, he can jump onto another Grind Rail, or continue below to reach the top via some Springs.
Sonic will continue along the path before being launched off a Jump Panel. If he is fast enough, he can Homing Attack some balloons to reach a Dash Ring and bypass the area below. However, if he does not, then he will have to make a series of careful jumps to avoid falling into the abyss below. After more ascending and descending paths and Spring jumps, Sonic will reach a Star Post.
After making a few more careful jumps, Sonic will go around a loop before being launched by a Spring onto another Grind Rail. If he can jump into the Dash Ring at the end of the rail, he can Homing Attack some balloons to bypass the bottom section. Otherwise, he will go across a section with some holographic tanks that he Homing Attack before being pulled up by a Pulley. Following some more straight road, he will encounter a vertical shaft with some springs. At the top of that shaft is a Spring which, if Homing Attacked, leads to a Dash Ring that takes Sonic to a small area with some Super Rings. After that, the Portal Gate can be found below.
The player should jump onto the second Grind Rail, where the first Red Star Ring can be found at the end of it.
After launching off the first Jump Panel, the player should perform a Homing Attack on some balloons to reach a Dash Ring that will launch the player into the second Red Star Ring.
The third Red Star Ring can be found just before the loop.
After the loop, the player will be launched by a Spring onto a Grind Rail, where the fourth Red Star Ring can be found on it.
The fifth Red Star Ring can be found in the vertical shaft with the Springs, and can be obtained after jumping off the first Spring.
Trivia[]
When the demo of Sonic Frontiers was presented at trade expos in 2022, all time requirements for different Ranks were adjusted to "99:59.00", meaning that the player would receive S Rank regardless how the Cyber Space stage has been cleared, including 1-3.[1]
