Sonic (favorite) can be super arrogant and Shadow (least favorite) is a decent rival to Sonic

I played Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games (the first one) when I was young. I played as Mario for the most part until I decided to play the 4 x 100m swimming, where you had to pick 4 characters. Mario was my first choice, but then I saw Sonic and remembered him from the box art, and made him my next character.

Something about Sonic clicked with me during that event, more then Mario clicked with me, so I went and played all of the events as Sonic.

Fast forward to a couple of years later, I got Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed (I always played as Sonic in that game) and Sonic Unleashed. I loved both of those games.

Sonic Boom also played on TV around the time I got those games. It was virtually the only thing I watched that wasn't on Disney Channel.

All of that combined got me into Sonic
