Better than IDW. Preboot had things happening, lore and mythology that was able to get tied into the main conflict, side characters that mattered, and the story treated Sonic’s and Eggman’s conflict with weight.

IDW Egg city arc, or whatever: “Sonic: You really done it this time Eggman. Now you know what I have to do.” Beats Eggman normally. Wasted line that doesn’t amount to anything. Archie rarely had wasted lines.

She kissed a corpse, for no seemingly good reason. I’m sure the Emeralds didn’t need the act of kissing to revive the dead.

I support antros x humans as a concept, because it does make a degree of sense, but even if that is a normal aspect of Sonic’s world, Elise still kissed a corpse.

The romance could’ve been better.

The Elise getting kidnapped a lot pissed me off cause Dr. Eggman could’ve had time to be involved with other aspects of the plot. Could’ve had more scenes of Elise talking to other characters, say, Tails.

@DiegoUreta68 If you learn about the history of Sonic movies, the dead pilot origin came before Christmas Island and Sonic’s Japanese creators originally wanted that to be the origin.

All origins are made up by definition anyway. I accept everything Sonic has done so I win the game in the end. <3

@Mystic Monkey To reply to the “integrity” part, Sonic Team wants multiple mediums to be made for the Sonic franchise as that has helped keep the brand alive through thick and thin. The problem is how to handle the multiple mediums as time progresses forward. It’s complicated but beneficial for everyone. If they don’t want IDW to be grand with ambition, labeling IDW as canon is the best way to get the comic run going and have game purests to stop whining about a comic run’s existence as they do with Archie.
