It’s not what Sonic and his friends did, it’s what they refused to do. I’m saying it’s not wrong for Sonic to stick to his principles, but it shouldn’t be used as an excuse to make brash decisions like that. He could’ve at least taken to decency to admit he was wrong, but he can’t see his own point of view. Even after he learned what happened with Surge, he just let her go like she was nothing. None of the characters saw her as a victim to have taken an interest in helping her, or at least start an investigation on who she was. Guess they think some things are more important than others.

They kept Surge around because she is someone who deserves to be redeemed. Her last appearance was a let-down because all the other characters were too busy with the problem and didn’t get a lot of time to interact her. Kit’s allegiance seems to be up in the air these days.

The final fight between Mimic and Whisper has been reduced to just one issue because the conflict between them is not a major focus in the main series. It’s really more of a personal matter. That’s why they gave them their own miniseries.

Dead or not, nobody wants Mimic back. The only reason I would want Dr. Starline to return is to reveal Surge’s secret past.

The point is IDW needs to something about it. They gotta work on something big and they better get started right away. Issue 100 is on its way, and there’s not a lot of time or pages.

I just came with the thought to introduce Sticks the Badger to IDW (nod to Sonic Frontiers), then add Clutch to the other side. He does owe Surge after all. We need to focus on Surge's problem more.

Friends vs Friends. Heroes vs Heroes. That would get Sonic to question his principals and his sense of superiority.

Also, the Return of the Resistance. Nice touch. Of course they will settle their feud at the end. But I would be very interested on how they get there.

IDW Civil War

The moral philosophy within the IDW Comic Sonic series has been sketchy for the past couple of years. I also have the concern that the stories and character arcs of the comics have been going all over the place. So I think I might have a solution for that: SONIC CIVIL WAR! That way, we can focus on all the characters at once, all consulting on one issue. Plus, it can be a way to make progress on some unresolved issues in the series.

Everything started going wrong when Sonic refused to locked "Mr. Tinker" up, and letting Metal Sonic loose. So far, I don't think everyone knows about the latter. In fact, everybody believes Dr. Eggman came back solely because of Dr. Starline. As I recall, most of Starline's attempts were failing. It took the mere sight of a beaten-up Metal Sonic the snap Eggman back to his old self. From that the events followed: the Metal Virus, Surge and Kit's creation, the Clean Sweepstakes. Most people think Sonic has no right to make such decisions and would be fed up with him trying to justify them. I think it's time for everyone the challenge Sonic's moral principals once and for all.

Naturally, once Shadow learns about Sonic setting Metal free, he would turn on him, and of course, Rouge and Omega would follow. Surge, Kitsunami, Rouge and Tumble would also side with him, because it's against Sonic. If Kit's mayhem hasn't been discovered, he could be replace with Clutch. It's because of Sonic and Eggman that he is where he is now anyway. Despite being on Sonic side, the Chaotix are still questioning Sonic chooses lately, especially about the Phantom Rider and the Metal Virus. Lanolin used to look up to Sonic, but I think she could still be on edge for the results his actions have made, since he keeps letting the monsters who attacked her hometown go. I always thought Surge and Belle would form some kind of connection, and Belle would turn against Sonic if she learn about his decision to let Metal go.

At least Sonic would keep a few friends in his corner; Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Silver, Blaze, Tangle, Whisper, and Jewel. The Babylon Rogue would want to help Sonic because Jet wants to keep their rivalry alive until it can be settled once and for all.

Issue with IDW, via Nintendo High

Some people are aware that Sonic was in the YouTube series, Nintendo High by Foozle. Well thinking back to the episode when Sonic leaves Nintendo High, I now realized that Foozle may have hit it right on the mark with Sonic.

First of all, nobody knows much about Sonic before the games. But in Nintendo High, Sonic just wanted to have fun like a normal student and not carry the burden of always being a hero. Well maybe that is what the actual Sonic is all about. Wanting to do things has own way. He was probably just minding his own business, until Dr. Eggman appeared making life miserable for himself and others. So he didn't have a choice but to fight back.

The thought came to me when I had an imaginary argument between Sonic and Surge. Surge kept badmouthing about Sonic getting never-ending praise for being a hero; that he enjoys it and that it all he ever wanted. But then Sonic just snaps and confesses that he never wanted to be a hero. He only became a hero because he likes living creatures and he wanted to protect them because Dr. Eggman is constantly putting them in danger. Sonic done have a sense on what's right and wrong. It just come with the territory. He only respond to problems whenever Eggman shows up; especially, one game at a time.

That's what is wrong with Sonic in IDW. After the events of Sonic Force, the world had gone through a drastic change; G.U.N. has been dismantled, new villains keep popping up, and people's personal issues have been left unresolved. Since the war, 'everyone' has been getting involved. Reconstruction has been a constant problem throughout the entire IDW series. The point of the Restoration was to repair lives and make sure things go back to what it used to be. But trouble keeps popping up more than it used to. That's why Sonic keeps pushing his hero philosophy within the comics. He hopes to set a good example for people to follow, and doing his part in the work effort getting things back to normal. But whenever they get close to solving the problem, it only gets worst. The world is just too chaotic. It needs to heal so that the Restoration could finally serve its purpose, G.U.N. can return to maintain order, and we can all move on to Sonic Frontiers.

I’m just worried if the comic will be dragged on for so long, they may decide to cancel it like with the Archie series, and all the new characters won’t be canon anymore.

My OC: Specter the Cheetah

Specter the Cheetah is a new villain for Sonic. He is faster, highly intelligent, and psychotic. Half the time, he is a calm, charming, intellectual gentleman. But in the other half, he is a savage, cruel, blood-thirsty beast.

He moves so fast, everything around looks like they are standing still. He is a gift strategist and tacticians with a calm and patient demeanor. He can vibrate his molecules so fast, he can phase through solid objects. He also has a prehensile tail and long retractable claws that can shred through steel.

He even has a strange attraction to Surge the Tenrec.

Christmas Island

I’ve been wondering about where Sonic was born, Christmas Island.

Sonic himself said it a strange place compared to anywhere else in the world. But in what way did he mean by “strange”? What is this place really like, why haven’t we seen it, and have nobody ever goes there? Well, I guess I’ll have to came up with my own theories.

The island is based off of a real-life nuclear test site. But instead of nuclear radiation, maybe the island has high-levels of an energy that somewhat in Sonic’s world. Chaos Emerald. It could‘ve been the birthplace of the Master Emerald as well. Just burst out of a volcano, far away from the island. Anyway, the levels of chaos energies are so high, even the law of physics there are out of wack. As for it being “strange”, I’d imagine it as Mobius from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon.

Sonic was born as one of the creatures on that weird place. A normal person would have gone insane living in a place like that. But for Sonic, he got really bored. He must’ve been one of those rare natives that just wanted to leave. Sonic has no restraints because he was just crazy. Insanity can be another form of freedom.

Christmas Island might have some connection with Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik at one time. He could have been there for research in his rise to taking over the world. Maybe going insane as well as part of the process. He may of had some unintended part in Sonic getting off that island, leading to their very first encounter. Might explain a few features of Eggman Land too.

I even once had the idea of the characters of Satam being Sonic’s childhood friends being born there too.

Somebody should make this canon.

Robotnik/Eggman

Dr. Ivo Robotnik decide to call himself "Dr. Eggman" because it was an insulting nickname that Sonic came up with, and he accept it as a way to get under Sonic's skin.

But I've got a theory of my own:

Ivo used to look-up to his grandfather, Professor Gerald Robotnik. However, things changed after the incident onboard Space Colony ARK. Gerald had programed the ARK to destroy the Earth as revenge for the death of his granddaughter, Maria. Afterwards, Ivo felt betrayed that the person he idolized was planning to destroy the entire planet, including his own grandson. Not only did he officially accept the "Eggman" name, but he abandoned the "Robotnik" name completely.

I know it will generate debate. But it couldn't it be a marriage of both claims?
