People were fan casting him as Shadow and I thought it was a weird choice.

I know Carrey "retired" but he keeps coming back for the Sonic movies so maybe they keep bringing Eggman back

Metal Sonic is one of the best sonic antagonists of all time

I think Shadow in 3 will be more complex, more ruthless than his game version but still have intentions to have a redemption arc toward the end

Yeah, I think it's likely shes just in disguise and its revealed halfway through the movie. Because Kyrstin Ritter actually is a good choice to play Rouge so I hope thats what ends up happening

This i why I wish they had cast a different actor for Gerald, its just strange with Carrey playing both roles. It sucks they wasted Chris Lloyd on the knuckles series because he would have been a perfect fit

I think they're going to be done with Eggman at that point, unless they want to keep Robotonik around for all the movies

He's also a really comedic villain for the sonic universe and isn't as serious as characters like Shadow or Mephilles
