I agree. This series is focusing too much on 'canon' to its detriment. Even YouTube videos and WALLPAPERS from Sonic Channel are considered canon. lol!
Times like this are when I start to understand Miyamoto's stance on story. Focusing on it too much detracts from the quality of other things.
