Only as true as SatAM getting it's cliffhanger solved with an extra season anytime soon.
Afaik Sonic X has ended 12 years ago with a satisfying closure, who and why would ever want to continue it?
First Sonic game experience ever: Sonic Adventure DX "Demo A".
First full Sonic game experience: Sonic Heroes.
Unfortunately, no. I was really hoping for him to have a somewhat significant backstory and of course I was disappointed by the final outcome nonetheless.
Considering how before it's launch Forces was confirmed to have Classic Sonic as a semi-retconned alternate dimension version of Sonic instead of what Gens described him to be, I was sincerely hoping that Infinite would have origins like that as well. My personal hunch was that Infinite is either a disillusioned and disfigured Tails from an alternate future or an alternate Blaze (judging solely from the design) and looking at YouTube apparently I was not alone with these ambitious concepts of mine.
Darnit, Forces could have been so much more.
How about a storyline that ends where Unleashed began? :D
At this point I think we're pretty safe to conclude that there's never gonna be a Sonic Adventure 3. Every time they've attempted to do it, it ended up being an evolved idea. Not to mention that I think that the team behind the Adventures is long gone too...or at the very least horrendously depleted/separated/crumbled.
Just to name one guy, the writer who was responsible for those stories, well he left Sonic Team after Black Knight...which was 9 years ago.
I don't think that we're ever going to reach noteworthy results in terms of general storytelling quality with the current writers at hand...and you can't have a Sonic Adventure game without a compelling narrative. :/
Best of both worlds?
(unintended Hannah Montana reference is unintended)
I can't pick games in terms of gameplay, because the main reason why I liked pretty much everything between 1999 and 2009 was the diversity. There was gunplay, swordplay, hoverboard riding, beat-em-up, basic platforming, precision platforming, fun party games, etc, I liked them all.
Now storywise though:
Riders: Zero Gravity, ShadowTH, Adventures, Storybooks.
'06 was a convoluted mess of cross paradoxes, but it was okay too, if only it was properly finished.
This rating is necessary for it to be the film that can be enjoyed by all Sonic fans, not just a Teletubbies incarnation.
I'm expecting everything that makes Sonic games awesome experiences: actual storyline, characterizations, upbeat action, epicness, etc.
I'm okay with Roger being on board as it's not his fault that Sonic's post-Colors characterization is what is. IF Sega will finally make up it's mind to change from the comedy route, I'm sure he can pull it off and it'll be definitely refreshing to hear something from him which is not related to any McNoseHairs or forced jokes.
With that said I really hope that we will get as little comedy as possible and even if there is, it's not forced and actually funny, like a random one-liner from let's say, Die Hard.
I really need my fill of dark edginess to my Sonic and I've been starving since 2009, so make it count, SEGA!
It is much easier to just say that "This game suckz!" rather than "I'm lacking the necessary skills to complete this challenge."
Hmm...I can't really choose, but imo:
- Heroes had the overall best soundtrack
- '06 had the most promising setting
- SR: Zero Gravity had the best story
- and SA(DX) had the most immersive atmosphere
- Egg Dragoon (Unleashed version) was the best "Eggman boss".
In a nutshell: I can't pick a favorite Sonic game.
I must buy Black Knight figures first! :D
Anyway they do look good.
Crap...I forgot Open Your Heart, His World and Sonic Boom...
Easy! It's Live and Learn/With Me/Fight The Knight/Sonic Youth/Sonic Heroes/I Am/Never Turn Back/What I'm Made Of/Through The Fire/Knight of the Wind/Live Life!
If that statement would be true, Knux would look like this for years now.
Sonic X and Sonic Boom are completely separated side-canons with no relations to each other.
The SB game will serve as a prequel to the TV series though.
It's just the design, not the name itself. In the trailer it's called "Burnbot" after all.
A lazy Egg Dragoon redesign. They really do love that robot, don't they?
