Time Eater

I remember hearing in a short by a youtuber named Tyrecordslol back before the game released saying it took place after Frontiers but my confusion is what about the original 2011 Generations Placement so I've gaslit myself into believing

The original 2011 version and the 2024 version are both canon and everyone forgot The Eggmen did that already

My other head canon is it doesn't take place after Frontiers and the Time Eater is showing Shadow his future and Sonic's future

It is assumed that at the end of Generations both sonic's destroyed it, undoing everything it had done and also sending both Eggman's to white space

But now with the latest trailer of Sonic x Shadow Generations, we know that the Time Eater is going to be involved in the plot, and from the episodes of Dark Beginnings we know that these events occur in the present day. Finally, in the last episode of the mini series, for some reason Rouge gave information about the Time Eater to GUN... Why?
