The developers behind the recently announced Sonic Racing Crossworlds have yet to be announced. Sumo Digital, the developers behind the original Sonic Racing games, are not working on the new project. The UK-based company said in a post on X that “in the meantime, reminisce with us on our memories of working with SEGA on Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing” Hardlight was then seemingly the next bet by Sonic fans for developing the new project.
However, a few tweets from SEGA imply that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is being developed by an “elite” internal team which specialise in SEGA racing games. Reddit user Jasonvsfreddyvs surmises that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is most likely being developed by former members of SEGA AM2 (Out Run, Daytona USA) and SEGA AM3 (SEGA Rally, Crazy Taxi). Hopefully we won’t have to wait long to find out exactly who the developers behind the project are.
"For the first time" isn't exactly true, I've played this game since I was five XP
but yes, that does say "1/4 of all your gaming this year was SADX." 45 hours, and I didn't even start until July. I also had some other games just open doing nothing for hours at a time, so this stat isn't really accurate
Feel free to share your own Sonic gaming stories this year (as if it'll involve anything other than Shadow Gens)
Polygon recently caught up with Shadow the Hedgehog creator and the head of the Sonic Team and boss, Takashi Iizuka, to talk to him about all things Shadow. At the end of the interview, Iizuka was asked which areas of the character he would like to explore in the future.
He replied by saying that “maybe in the future it’ll be interesting to come back and revisit Shadow being not so nice, maybe even as far as evil.” You will be able to play a batch of new Shadow the Hedgehog themed levels in the upcoming Sonic x Shadow Generations
The official Japanese Sonic x Shadow Generations website has teased that a new character might be playable in the upcoming remaster game. The site features a look at the playable characters in Sonic X Shadow Generations, which naturally include Classic Sonic, Modern Sonic, Shadow and also a mysterious undisclosed character that has yet to be revealed. You can see the images from the website down below.
Ive been trying to open the sonic generations demo but this just pops up. how do i fix this?
Sonic X Shadow Generations is regarded a "remaster" of Sonic Generations when to me, Sonic Generations is pretty peak as it is, especially given its on consoles and PC.
But for a "remaster", it doesn't look all that different from the original. If anything, the video concentrates entirely on Shadows content than show-casing what makes this remaster different from the original for Sonic gameplay.
The YouTube description states as "an all-new collection featuring two unique experiences!" as well as "SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS also includes a complete remaster of the classic hit SONIC GENERATIONS, featuring newly remastered versions of iconic 2D and 3D stages with upgraded visuals and new bonus content."
I understand if the "remaster" will be sold at full price on consoles that do not have Sonic Generations, but my burning concern is... are they going to market it on Steam as a full-price separate game, or will it be sold as a reasonably priced expansion for Sonic Generations?
To those who already have Sonic Generations on Steam (especially if it's a recent purchase), how would you feel if Sonic Team expected you to buy this game again at full price for SXSG?
Exactly. I just bought Sonic Generations on PC. This is my first Steam title. If all goes well, I might get more games since they're cheaper here than on PS4. I'm already considering Sonic Lost World, Papa's Freezeria Deluxe, and TABS amongst many others.

I just thought that if they make a Sonic Adventure remaster, they should allow people who already own the original Sonic Adventure on Steam, which is Sonic Adventure DX, they should allow people to transfer their progress so they don't have to start over, if they do Sonic Adventure remaster, they should update the voice lines, literally remake everything in Modern style.

No... NNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
They're RUSHING Frontiers!? Our fears and taboo! Which may explain the random assets I've heard? ...Please tell me this Curator is lying!
Although, at the same time: I kinda expected it, coming from Sonic Team, and maybe SEGA? Still, I wish I was wrong...
But don't panic, it's still soon to judge: if Gran Turismo 7 got a different version from before release to after (but for the bad), so can Frontiers (hopefully for good). I hope we get a happy ending...

Sonic games you could buy on Steam:
Until August 28, you can get the game for a 25% discount. Doesn't matter because the game is pretty much dead in the waters on Steam.
Sonic Origins was released yesterday in all platforms to decent reviews and it contained HD versions of the classic 2D Sonic the Hedgehog games which appeared on the SEGA Mega Drive system.
The Sonic CD remaster was developed by Christian Whitehead using his Retro Engine and Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 were developed by Christian Whitehead and Headcannon Games. Back in April Headcannon stated that they had helped with the remastered Sonic 3 & Knuckles then a few month’s later we found out the Sonic Origins project was developed in-house at SEGA. However, Headcannon developer Simon Thomley (aka Stealth) has spoken up about his disappointment in the finished product on Twitter.
