Sonic the hedgehog 2 is coming soon just in April we all are excited to see it soon but also IDW is releasing the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 The Official Movie Pre-Quill in march a mini series of what happen after the events of the first film, So I had found this from discord of Someone on reddit found this screenshot on 4chan of a guy on discord named angrybearman talk to someone who happens to work at IDW and ask this question about the upcoming comic

Captain Kukku is a sonic character His name in the game is The Great Battle Kukku if you know or don't know he was the main antagonist in Tails Adventure. He is the leader of the Battle Kukku Empire who orchestrated an attack on Cocoa Island to seize the Chaos Emeralds for world domination, but was foiled by Tails.

The character was never seen again since in the games but did appear in Archie Sonic's comics if you remember him as he went by two names and later on was working for the eggman empire as well, He is somewhat similar to eggman in a way like Finding the Chaos Emeralds and Attempted world domination.

He is a forgotten sonic character he only appeared in one game and never came back or ever had a cameo but he did appear in the Archie comics where most people remember him from but it seems he is coming back again but in this sonic movie universe.

We know for sure it is him cause his name is Kukku he will just be know as captain Kukku instead of The Great Battle Kukku cause lets face it his name is kinda odd they changed it just to make it simple, So I know it would be somewhat odd to have this type of character in it but let's face it sonic has many characters not just in the games only but in other media like the tv shows and comics like i believe the future film projects paramount wants to use more of them ones that were forgotten and had not been seen in a sonic game since and maybe we might even use ones from the comics and past tv shows (expect for the ones made by penders) and it would be good cause they would make these characters popular again and Sega would bring them back in the games.

The new upcoming animated mario film is doing something similar to this there using an obscure character foreman spike who was from the wrecking crew who will be voiced by Sebastian Maniscalco all we know is that he will be the brother's boss.

Now we don't know what Captain Kukku role will be in this prequel comic or if this info may even be truth at all cause we don't know the guy's named but all he said that he is the one who finds robotnik in the mushroom world, So what do i think this means well i believe is that Captain Kukku finds robotnik and takes him as prisoner but later on robotnik tells him he is useful and later on becomes a member of his army making his army more advanced and powerful the two seems to have the same things in common and almost act like friends but robotnik is doing this just so he can later on betray him maybe this is where robotnik hears about the master emerald from him and i think maybe he was the one who send robotnik to earth so he could retrieve the master emerald for him only just to betray by him since we all know he wants it for himself and at some point before he goes back to earth he meets knuckles since he knows about the master emerald and brings him along and we all know that he is using him and lying to knuckles just so he can get what he wants.

It could explain why when we see robotnik return to earth he comes in a small egg pod like rocket where he does not have a huge robot army but the same ones he had in the first movie and one new type which are based on the buzz bombers or buzzers because he was working for someone just to only betray him and have it for himself, some people where confused that how did he got the same robots agian he had on earth and it could be that Kukku has the same rings and brought all of eggman's stuff from earth to here so he could help him makes his army powerful.

So what part in the film could we expect him to show up well most likely he will be in the ending to set up the third film we all know about, I predict when eggman gets defeated again in this film he escapes but then later on a big ring portal appears and gets grabbed and we see he has been brought back to Captain Kukku who is angry and finds out that robotnik betrayed him and tried to have the master emerald for himself but instead of killing him he instead spares eggman and makes sure he will never betray him again as he still have plans for him for something bigger.

I am not sure if Captain Kukku could also show up in a flashback for tails in the film since the game he was in tail's adventure and that game took place before tail's ever meet sonic Maybe it could explain why tails knows about eggman and his plan for the master emerald in the movie, Also if Great Battle Kukku is in it does it means his son speedy and his mad owl scientist doctor Fukurokov are gonna be in it too? I don't think so really I think it will just be him only not sure about the owl scientist too maybe they could since we already have an owl character in this film's universe.

But yet again this is just a Rumor we don't know if this is even true at all the only thing we can do is wait until the prequel comic comes out and see if this turns out to be true or not. I would kinda like to see him I think he would work well in this sonic film universe like I don't think they are gonna use eggman as the only main villain forever in the movies they wanna use other villains like him and maybe even ones that were not from the games like I don't think the third film is just gonna be eggman and metal sonic only but there will be a third villain who is the main villain of this film and eggman will be forced to work for him.

So For now all we can do is wait until Sonic the Hedgehog 2 The Official Movie Pre-Quill comes out and see if this character is really gonna be in it but what's your opinion could this be truth would you want to see Captain Kukku and what other character you hope could could show up in a future film let me know in the comments.
