They should fix it and make it start like the original
I said it before in comments, but with Sonic X Shadow Generations having MEPHILES, the literal MIND OF SOLARIS, outright say he wants to REINTEGRATE HIMSELF INTO THE TIMELINE and EXIST?
Yeah, no, his whole plan in 06 was an ignorant self-destructive tantrum. Hands down.
His plan was to collapse time into nothingness; a void. The Time Eater erases time and space, rendering what it erases a void. Mephiles, Iblis, and Solaris are all inexistant in White Space.
Either Solaris would be POWERLESS after success and easy pickings for, say, the literal sentient all-consuming void at the beginning and end of existence since time - the literal source of his power - wouldn't exist anymore.
Or Solaris would be rendering himself inexistant through his own actions.
Both of which are VERY heavily implied in SXS.
He was doomed if he won and doomed if he lost.
Solaris is ultimately an expression of the futile and self-destructive nature of sadistic, nihilistic, and myopic sociopathy, and how even those who SHOULD be able to see how that ends DON'T and ensure their own demise.
Suns die, lights fade, space empties, time ends, reality becomes unreality, the finite depletes, the infinite abstracts, and All is Null and Void.
Gods are ultimately bound to their mythologies and scopes. No matter how much they try to claim and make it seem otherwise, they too WILL die and become nothing.
Inexistence is inescapable. To fight it is to delay it. It's better to make peace with it and live fully in the time that you have until THE END. Like Sonic.
Solaris was so focused on his sadistic rage, nihilistic vengeance, and myopic whims that he, THE GOD OF TIME, failed to do so and tried to EXPIDITE the end for his own pleasure. Not realizing until it was too late that he was playing himself more than anyone else.
As a result, everything is literally better off without him.
A dark and tragic fate, but one he literally asked for and worked towards.

SEGA has confirmed today that Sonic X Shadow Generations sales continue to climb as the game has now shifted 1.5 million copies across platforms. The game should sell even more as it has been discounted in the Black Friday sales at a number of retailers and digital storefronts, plus there’s the new Sonic 3 is due to be released next month in cinemas.

I get why Sonic X Shadow Generations didn't get a nomination in any other categories (even if they deserved some), but you can't tell me that freaking Mario Party deserved this award more. That's just robbery.
I remember hearing in a short by a youtuber named Tyrecordslol back before the game released saying it took place after Frontiers but my confusion is what about the original 2011 Generations Placement so I've gaslit myself into believing
The original 2011 version and the 2024 version are both canon and everyone forgot The Eggmen did that already
My other head canon is it doesn't take place after Frontiers and the Time Eater is showing Shadow his future and Sonic's future

Sonic 06 remake? That could work.
Eggman spinoff game? absolutely. Robotnik family might be to ambitous though in my opinion.
One thing I'm suprised about is Sega's subtle obsession since IDW began to keep referencing Archie. I have no real problem with that, but with a Robotnik Family spinoff all I can imagine is them recreating Eggman's pre-reboot family to be more like Modern Era, which Mystic Monkey pointed out recently actually started becoming a thing, solidified in game and in Gerald's journal.
Sega also recently said they want to make more Sonic games and spinoffs, spinoffs specifically for Shadow, including him becoming his own franchise. Eggman getting a game could potentially end up in more Sonic characters getting their own games and branching off as well, which would be really great for the series.
It looks like the Sonic franchise is about to enter a new era, hopefully we'll be getting a lot more comic series and shows, along with the likelihood of more films, hopefully eventually an animated cinematic universe once the current SCU slows.
But those are just my thoughts. what does everyone else think?

Sonic Teams Kazuyuki Hoshino Shun Nakamura and Katsuyuki Shigihara were all present at a special Indonesian Sonic fan meet event and they revealed a few tidbits about the long-running franchise.
One of the things noted was that Shun Nakamura, who was the producer behind the recent Sonic X Shadow Generations, reiterated to the fans that he would love to remake the disastrous Sonic 06, which launched on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in November 2006. He said all older Sonic games are on the table.

The comic will be a prequel to Shadow Generations. I think I'll call it Shadow: Dark Eclipse. I'm only about halfway done with the outline, feel free to give your suggestions for replacements or additions, and ideas to help me finish the rest of course.
Issue 1-
Sonic and Tails find the Dark Arms unconscious after rescuing them from Eggman, who was attempting to transport them in an animal capsule. He and Tails bring them to Tails' lab to figure out what they are, assuming they are some mutant variant of wisp.
Meanwhile, Shadow had seen this and decides to continue his hunt for Eclipse, going to track down Eggman for information on where he found the Dark Arms, deciding to avoid getting Sonic and Tails into the situation but taking note Eclipse might go after them.
Elsewhere, somewhere near/in Westopolis, Eclipse is aiding Black Doom in regrowing his body (probably having it be through some sort of goopy plantlike substance, similar to stuff in Black Comet).
Issue 2-
Black Doom, acknowledging his regeneration is almost complete, allows Eclipse to go find the Dark Arms and bring them to Black Doom.
Shadow tracks down Eggman and gives him a brief interrogation. Eggman tells Shadow where he found the Dark Arms, in _____ Jungle (Can anyone tell me where his ship landed in his final appearance in SU #70?). When Shadow leaves Eggman, the Doctor has an Egg Flapper follow Shadow to see what he's up to. (Unfinished)

My goal is to mainly focus on making it feel IDW, but I want it to have some reboot vibes. also, I need an inker and colorist so I can get it into digital so if anyone wants to help out with the art let me know.

We have a explanation for how why Shadow fought Sonic over the Emerald but not Silver. I feel like a short dlc for him should happen sometime in the future
