Got Sonic Colors Ultimate for early ending Christmas, but decided not to play it until today for 3 Wise Men.

I was thinking of getting it for my PS5 but I wanted to make sure it’s a stable game before making my decision.

This has been a huge debate between Sonic fans for years. The Sonic fanbase thinks Sonic can run at the speed of light, but Sonic cannot canonically do this without Chaos Emeralds, Level Up Items or Rings/Wisps/Energy. Plus, the Light Speed Dash is seriously slower than light in the gameplay, despite being called the Light Speed Dash, slow enough that it's more of a Ring Dash, and while Sonic can perform the Light Speed Attack, it isn't light speed due to not being almost instant like actual light. Sonic was at his fastest in Sonic Unleashed, but his top SPD is slightly over 3,500, which when translated to metric meters, based on the game's Japanese development, is over Mach 10/just above hypersonic. Sonic's page says that his unaided top speed is unknown, but however, there is canon proof of what Sonic's unaided top speed is. In Sonic Colors, Sonic was able to outrun a Hyper-Go-On black hole for 30 seconds. Assuming that the black hole is similar to a normal black hole, in which black holes pull non-orbiting mass inward at 30% the speed of light, and since Sonic wasn't using the Boost when outrunning the black hole, Sonic's unaided top speed is around 200,000,000 miles per hour!

I'm here to express why Colors is my least favorite Sonic game and how it could've been better, so let's begin.

The first few acts of the game is fine, but after that, everything went downhill from there. First off, if Sonic Team could make the first few acts of Planet Wisp traditional 3d Sonic, I would've liked this game better. Second, I think they ran out of level design ideas. Most of it is just, "to from point A to point B" with only platforming, barely using what Sonic's most known for, SPEED. Finally third, the acts aren't really fun, with very little exceptions, which are the rollercoaster sections later on in the game.

The writing is, eh..? I get it, the Sonic franchise is targeted towards a younger audience, but it seems like that they didn't care about the older fans. Now, I'm just going to address the elephant in the room, Sonic is a jerk to everyone in the game, including his allies. Sonic's writing is just, "Oh, we beat Eggman?" Sonic, Tails created a damn translator so you could understand what Yacker is saying. Speaking of, he doesn't care what the Wisps think at all! "Oh you don't want to be called aliens?" "I'm still calling them aliens." They made Sonic so unlikable and just rude to everyone.
