The Sonic 3 first teaser trailer was announced, and we got a lot of cast returns from the first two films. With the announcement that Jim Carrey would be returning as Dr. Robotnik/Dr. Robotnik.

I’m fully aware that there was no redemption for him, that he was too far gone in grief, madness and revenge to not need to die, that his backstabbing of both Ivo and Shadow was cold beyond words and solidified his fate!
And he deserved his final fate, yes. No doubt about it!
But all the same, he was still very much an awesome villain! Manipulative, intelligent beyond comprehension, sadistic, powerful, not afraid of dying and Jim Carrey’s comedic portrayal of him was just astounding!
He was just one of these kinds of villains that you don’t want gone, because he’s just so cool to watch! Like, he avoids becoming a hate sink, because of various reasons.
Maybe he should have just been beaten and then arrested, once the Eclipse Gun was destroyed, then he’d still be around to be more awesome and be a recurring foe for Team Sonic!
I confess, I mostly want him to return just so we can see more scenes of him wearing the 100% game accurate outfit!!
Like, the outfit he put on after first getting on board the Eclipse Cannon.
Seeing him wearing it full time, especially in his egg pods and flying drones would be awesome!!!!
Happy 63rd birthday to Jim Carrey, who played Doctor Ivo Robotnik in the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog films.
As we all see in Movie 3, Ivo Robotnik got fat from junk food depression eating.
However, Gerald was shown to be fat for over 50 years and it’s never shown how this is the case.
Anyone have any ideas?
Good news for all of us who love Jim Carrey's portrayal of Robotnik and thought Sonic 3 was possibly going to be his final role. Carrey recently confirmed in a interview with Cinema Today that he’s open to the idea of acting as the mad doctor again in future Sonic movies, provided he thinks the potential new ideas sound "fun".

Any thoughts?
I sure hope almost EVERYBODY who he’d hounded, insulted or provoked in life saw it and became heavily overwhelmed!
Like, Wade, Crazy Carl, Major “NobodyCares”, G.U.N and all of the Pentagon staff who were so reluctant to bring him in to capture Sonic. Heck, even the big, tough thug who he tossed out the window!
Wonder how they’d feel?
As we await (for 3 years) the arrival of the 4th movie, I'm only hoping that there will be another miniseries or two.
Hopefully, one on Ivo Robotnik, which shows his entire childhood growing up, how he was mistreated enough to turn to villainy, how he became involved with the US government, his first meeting with Agent Stone and what his parents were like.
(And whether or not Gerald is his mother or father'd dad.)
Like, Ivo Robotnik would be played by 2 younger actors, a boy and a young man throughout most of the show, whilst Jim Carrey would potentially appear at the end as Robotnik fully grown (as he appears in the first movie.)
Gerald Robotnik, Shadow, Maria Robotnik and Commander Walters would also make appearances.
It’s been said there will be a Knuckles & Shadow TV series coming up, but I’d prefer one centred on Ivo Robotnik and how his “traumatic” childhood played out as he grew into “the smartest person in the world” and turned to villainy.
Villain backstories are always the best to me!
It would take place long before the movies and the death of Maria would happen concurrently with it.
Robotnik would be played by a kid, teen and young man actor each. Jim Carrey would potentially cameo in the end as the fully grown Robotnik. His parents, classmates and teachers would also appear.
Gerald Robotnik, Shadow, Maria and Walters would also make cameos.
Also, Agent Stone, as a kid, would appear.
I don’t truly believe Robotnik’s gone (still!).
If Shadow was able to survive the explosion, surely Eggman did too.
If the good doctor managed to return from banishment to another planet and survived plummeting apparently 1000 feet into the ground from a giant mecha, surely he could return from a giant space station explosion!
Plus, Jim Carrey really loves playing him that much, he might be the only role the otherwise retired actor will continue to play.
Also, you can’t have Sonic the Hedgehog without Dr. Eggman!!
…….Or can you?
Obviously, Jim can't be in 2 places in the same shot as both Ivo and Gerald Robotnik.
Whoever plays the second character is someone else's with Jim's face and voice added in during Post-Production.
Does anyone know who the stunt double is?
