So I was expecting when they met up with Surge again they would at least TALK about what happened at Sweepstakes, but instead it's ignored...?

Surge litterally helped, and shamelessly announced on worldwide telavision, that she was part of Clutch's scheme, and not only that, the last thing she did before leaving was threaten Sonic, thats the last we see of her until now, and all Amy does is ask if her "heroes journey" is still active. Like... what??

I adored the art and Blaze and Surge interaction in this comic, but this is a MAJOR thing I cant believe was dropped.

When I say she is easily one of(if not the greatest) of Sonics rivals I mean it.

Read the latest Idw comic, she was always like a more serious version of Sonic but this comic really proves my point. She is truly a powerful, very fast and cool Sonic character. She’s basically Sonic if Sonic didn’t care about having fun in the process of hero-ing

And she has always been like this. I feel like she connects to Sonic deeply when talking about their sense of urgency. They both feel very responsible for making sure everyone is ok and saving the day, using their speed to do so. All of the Sonic characters have participated saving the day in some way, but its ACTUALLY Blaze’s duty and the way she reacts to these situations feels exactly like Sonic. Thats why I love her writing in IDW so much

And am I the only one catching on to the dynamic between Blaze and Surge?!

Its like serious Sonic vs unserious Sonic, Sonic’s careful side vs his reckless side. We know Sonic likes to have fun and can be very reckless, but when innocent lives are involved and are endangered he takes things very seriously. Blaze refuses to be reckless and Surge doesn’t care about being careful. Its like if Sonic’s two sides of himself just separated, and do you SEE the color contrast!??

Its SO cool to me idk why. I love idw, they are doing Blaze so much justice

I decided to draw blaze the cat as bloom in her fairy outfit from winx club.

1 sometimes my autistic brain realizes lots of characters have symptoms of autism so i imagine they have it too sometimes, specifically sonic, tails, shadow, knucks, and silver (occasionally amy)

2 tails has dyslexia

3 sonic has claustrophobia, it just makes sense (the second boom comic confirmed it for me)

4 the way smallpwbbs (yt artist) portrays shadow before maria died is my favorite shads hc, so it's mine now too

5 blaze uses her power to bake food for silver whenever they visit each other

6 tails may have a license but it certainly isn't legal (one of four lies)

7 eggman is a skilled seamstress who makes all of his own clothes

Why is Blaze afraid of heights? Can't she fly, or at the very least levitate?

So, Sonic is the Knight of the Wind.

Blaze is a pyrokinetic.

Fire is this powerful, terrifying thing on its own. It surrounds and grows and is insanely strong.

But throw wind into the mix?

Wind takes fire farther. In a true natural wildfire, windy days are dangerous because it makes the fire spread and grow stronger and larger. Just the other day, there was a huge bush fire near my house, and guess what? The wind made the fire grow huge, it took days to calm it.

Blaze was perfectly capable and cool on her own. She was a good leader and an awesome person in general.

But it wasn't until she became friends with Sonic that she gained confidence. She grew as a person, and was better off for it. She was stronger.

Wind boosts fire.
