Go off DKC lmao, tell them
Can’t, I’m busy. I had to step out of class just to put the finishing touches on my last reply. Though if anyone else would like to step up to the plate, go nuts.
Okay I'll go off on Penders only
*ahem*
Lenders is a selfish and egotistical man who should never pick up a job for any writing position again. It was thanks to him that SEGA is now limited to what they can use. Sure it forced new interesting characters as well, but Penders shouldn't have been that childish to sue them for it in the first place. If any game is made by Penders, I would never play it, for I wouldn't want to give this man any of my money, to give him a bigger reason to ruin more of the series.
Hehe, I feel no shame. Colors to Forces is not the Sonic I know and love, and a convoluted mess of echidnas and lawsuits will not change that. A horrible man can still make good art, or proportionately better art.
Colors was an amazing game, same with generations. Forces had a lot of potential, something true fans have recognized. Penders shouldn't be allowed to make SEGA tiptoe around his work being mentioned like they have
I just have to be patient. My generation will take charge eventually, and we’ll right the wrongs of our predecessors, I know it’ll happen eventually.
@DKCfan10 Now I’m disappointed in myself. WHY DID I TAKE PUBLIC CONSENSUS INSTEAD OF MY OWN OPINION!
I chose Penders solely because there's at least some salvageable stuff in Sonic's 2010's era, unlike Pendy's rotten heap of echidnas
"It was thanks to him that SEGA is now limited to what they can use"
Was it? I suppose Penders did play a big role in Flynn joining Archie and ultimately getting to this point, but if I still were a newcomer I'd probably find him to be one of the most inconsequential people
Yes, Sega is legally restricted from using Penders's content, but let's be honest, were they going to anyway? Penders's stories about echidnas blatantly contradict what Sonic Team set down for them from day one and besides I don't think they're interested in returning to that. Penders did create hundreds of characters but when most of them were either just slight variations of game characters or designs that would never in a trillion years be used in the games, it doesn't really matter either. And don't even get me started on the Nazi stuff. Penders pretty much used nothing from the games besides the echidnas which, again, don't appear to be on Sonic Team's interest
What I'm saying is that Penders's direction was so drastically different from the games that they're not gonna cross paths anytime soon
Besides it's not even like Sonic Team cannot touch Archie content with a 10-ft pole. They've still got most of the post-Penders staff on board, and these guys have brought stuff from even the Pre-SGW to the Post-SGW and the games. The Eggnet makes sense in the games, so it was mentioned. "Abraham Tower" fits as a name for the G.U.N. commander, so it was brought to the games. Hell it's not even like they're on a tight rope either. IDW introduced a character extremely similar to Scourge in concept, color scheme and even name, and yet there have been no issues with that
Like what Diego said, at least Pontac and Graff did not put blatant Nazi allegories.
What do you think?
