In Sonic Forces, we see Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, Shadow, Team Chaotix, Omega, even Silver. But no Cream.
Blaze, of course, is probably still in her dimension, but where is Cream? Where is she during Eggman's takeover of the world? Is she somewhere in the Resistance base? Is she hiding out with Vanilla somewhere? Or was she captured by Eggman, or worse?
Maybe she's hiding out in the Sol Dimension, but if that's the case, why isn't Blaze with the Resistance?
It's why I believe Sonic Team doesn't like giving parents to its characters.
Because the parents will tell them to stay home and do nothing.
The real reason is that Cream isn't all that popular of a character.

That could be, but I'd have liked some confirmation that she wasn't killed when Eggman took over. I only just noticed when I was playing Forces this year.
I don't think it's good to assume that a character died every time they don't appear in a game.
My headcanon/fantheory is that while the level select screen of Sonic Forces was called "World Map", I don't believe it truly was the map of the whole world.
In fact, I believe Sonic Forces took place on South Island.
That doesn't mean Dr. Eggman did not take over 99% of the whole world, it's just Sonic's involvement on South Island at the time was the make-or-breaking point of the Eggman Empire.
That said, who knows what was going on in the rest of the world at the time, with likely Vanilla and Cream taking refuge elsewhere during the global war.
(It also annoys me how Dr. Eggman pretty much succeeded in taking over the world, and it's brushed off by the next game with no lasting repercussions of the global conquest.)
Maybe the writers didn't think her personality would fit the wartime setting? That could be why Big is absent too.
@Myself 123 If I had a dollar for every time people have said retro characters like Fang are dead in the modern games...
@Mystic Monkey That's probably because acknowledging Eggman's more nefarious actions makes it hard for Sega to present him as a silly comic relief villain.
@Myself 123 Normally, yes. (Like, we never assume Knuckles is dead because he isn't in Colors, or Team Chaotix because they're not in Lost World) But if they don't appear in a game where the villain took over 99.99% of the world... again, Blaze is probably in her dimension.
Again, I hope she is still alive somewhere.

Part of why I find it hard to go by Frontiers as canon. Or in the same timeline at least (since it is accessed in Shadow Generations). One could say Frontiers takes place where Forces did not, except that Infinite is mentioned. (Maybe Frontiers took place in a timeline where Infinite was defeated before Eggman could take over the world)
@ElectroKyurem They shouldn't have referenced Infinite then. Besides, fans dislike Forces so they'd be fine with it being non-canon. (I don't feel the same of course)
Do you honestly think they'd kill a character off-screen and never mention it?
Also, she's mentioned in Frontiers, mentioned in TMoStH, appears in Dream Team and will appear in Crossworlds.
